Has anyone had to see a consultant-to be examined down below and the consultant was a man? I have to see a consultant next week, over a problem with my lady bits and I'm dreading it being a male! I know this sounds silly, but I still feel uncomfortable about it. I'm assuming I'll have no choice, and I'll not make a big deal about it but would prefer a lady looking at me

They will have a chaperone but ifyou want a female ask at the desk when you go in they cannot refuse

Hi everyone, Congrats on your little queue jumping baby boy Twi1ght!

I'm just back from my 21 week scan. Beanie is almost exactly average overall at 52%ile, but is measuring as extra long femurs! I think i prefer that to a huge head at the mo though, so no complaints! Yet again bean was being awkward, and is happily ensconsed transverse across my belly, legs together, even when i got up and jumped up and down, and wiggled my hips like mad! However, the sonographer is pretty sure she could tell, and she says....................

TEAM PINK!!

My family will be thrilled, mum is already digging out my old baby clothes. Step mum is going to go into a frenzy of buying pink and glittery sparkly things now having had 3 boys.

Next time someone is updating the list, please could you add me a team pink symbol, i'm not sure how to do it! thanks!

Congratulations Twilight - very jealous you have met your boy and I'm still waiting but really pleased for you nonetheless xxx

My sister has been round and spent all day with me today which has cheered me up no end. We went out for lunch and then had a hilarious time trying to take bump photos with the camera on timer (she's due in 11 weeks).

Hi girlies, I've only read this page so far so sorry in advance if I've missed anything significant.

Secondly, congrats on team pink Kira! There are such pretty little clothes for girlies.

Claire, sorry you're still here but I'm also glad not to be a lonely boldie! I'm having no signs at all despite having been scrubbing out the kitchen cupboards today and prepping for the 3rd curry in a week!! I have been booked for induction but hoping it won't get that far. Time will tell but my little boy is only 3/5 palp and "quite happy where he is" according to the midwife. I've decided to take that as a compliment from my boy rather than sulk about going over due.

Winnie i feel fed up so have a good cry i felt like a mental case but felt better after a good cry and a shower.

been to the docs to have my painful legs looked at i am 22 weeks ONLY! and they are killing me. He said my varicous veins are really bad and whenever i stand i damage my legs further made me sad. anyway he want me to have a scan. i thought great get to see bean but no he want to scan my legs to see the extend of the damage and how the curculation is going or not! then he phoned and said change of plan once baby has arrive i will be having a scan and op to sort my veins. scary. Also dentist said i need a xray and possible root canel filling after baby arrive. might ask the baby to sty in there doesnt sound like much fun to me..

he has given me a note for work request reduced duties and spend more time sitting phoned work and told them and they said sorry not really possible at the moment. my responce is tough really i cant stand all day need to be sat with leg elevated told her to refer me to occupational health and the doc has now signed me off for the week.

i've just been reading an article about the shortage of midwives in this country and it got me thinking, is there like a report or something similar of the maternity services in each region, you know, like an ofsted report that schools have? it got me quite worried when it said about a percentage of mothers in labour where left on their own due to staff shortages, got me wondering what it's like at my local hospital.
