thats for the advice re the risk assessments the problem is my manager wrote them with me and it is her that is ignoring them. i said to her the risk assessment says i cant work with violet or unpredictable people therefore i couldnt do that group her responce was if anything kicks off go to the office. The issue is that we are really short staffed. i am the only on there at the moment a new member should be starting in Sept so i just want it to be sept already!
Stand your ground Jenjade. The issue is you are pregnant and they cannot put you in a position that puts your unborn baby at risk. And this carp about new staff member starting in September is irrelevant, besides, i bet it will be October at least before anyone starts.
If your manager isn't listening, speak to someone above her, or the HR peeps.

JCR, how exciting!!!! 1 day to go!!!!

Lirin, your dad's an ejjit! :D

Missy, happy days that evil tenants are going today.

On the kids doing chores subject, why wouldn't they? My DD has to help tidy up in nursery when they make a mess and i get her to help me tidy up a bit at home. I've told her if i stand on any more little bits of lego (my pet hate) they go in the bin. (The OH kept ALL his lego from childhood so we have a mountain of the damm stuff)

Morning ladies, i am feeling better today after Squid let me sleep last night:)

Went to the consultant yesterday and don't have to go back to the hospital now until i'm in labour!
I have excellent photos and will now attempt to post them, not sure how to do that though?
Hugs and love to those in need and positive vibes going out to all this morning.

Well done on a great appointment by the sounds of it!
For photos. you need to upload them to an online site, like FLICKR or similar, then copy the link to the photo, and in your posting, hit the button which looks like a square with 2 mountains and a stamp, and paste the link in there. Just make sure that when you paste, the Http// bit is only there once, and the link ends in Jpg

jenjade, stand your ground. My immediate managers are nice enough, but some of the area managers have been rining me when they're short-staffed to cover extra shifts in other locations, which are unpredictable areas and would have potential for confrontation. I've refused to go, largely as a risk assessment has only been done in my current location.

I'm the first pregnant female they've ever had, so they're not pushing the boundaries too much.

Alison- ta for uniform advice, got that sorted out as well now.

Glad you got sorted Lirin!! My OH said yesterday " are you wearing joggers to work?" (they are plain yoga trousers actually) And i said, I've been wearing these to work for months!! They are the only trousers I can get comfortable in." Nice to know he notices things! :D
Besides, I don't think anyone looks at my lower half these days, all eyes seem to focus on the growing bumps on my upper half. I feel very self-conscious some days. :o

i will tell her my concerns today about having to do the group in the woods and will let you know what she says!

Jenjade, I'm with Kira and Lirin on this, you really need to stand your ground and put your concerns in writing to your manager. Otherwise if something goes wrong she could deny everything she has said to you. She has a duty of care to you and your clients and letting you do something you aren't supposed to is the easy / lazy option for her. Are you in a Union?

I had such a bad dream last night that my OH was leaving me because he had to go and be Superman!! In my dream I was begging him and saying I needed him, and he was saying but other people need me too and it isn't fair on them. OH woke me up because I was crying in my sleep. It sounds funny now, but I was really upset :(

    Funny you've said that....

Eventually grew out of trousers I'd bought, and hadn't been reimbursed. Emailed area manager to say location wasn't happy, but as I hadn't been reimbursed, I felt I had no choice but to wear my own clothing instead of ordering more.
At the same time, I emailed my nasty boss with a list of trousers and basically said navy work trousers are impossible. Choose. He chose Mothercare yoga pants- I know I maybe shouldn't have had to do it this way, but it was the diplomatic line to take really.

So now, I've been fully reimbursed, and have a couple of pairs of trousers I'd been interested in buying anyway, as well as vest tops- the 3 for 2 deal. And they're damn comfy too.

I've been having such vivid dreams too - last night someone burnt the house down with my dog inside and the night before I dreamt DH had died  didn't get back to sleep that night - had to lie there and make sure he was breathing....also woke him up with my semi-hysterical sobbing too :o

I have the dreams too... Last night I was making pasties because I have ready made pastry to use up (funny what RL things sneak in!), and to fill this enourmous pasty I was just using potato and 2 pukka pies, which I hadn't even taken out of the foil cases. It was very odd indeed.

Got weirder when it turned out who I had made them for and that I had to tell them not to heat them in the microwave because of the foil pie cases and they weren't disturbed by that at all

I did have a very disturbed night's sleep though so that may have had something to do with it!

  • Morning all,

Last day at work today and i have balloons, ribbons and all sorts all over my desk, good job i have no actual work to do or it would be in the way lol.

Midwife at the antehatal classes said that very vivid horrible dreams can be a sign of labour - i always have vivid dreams so not sure if there will be much change lol, hope everyone managed to get back to sleep.

Elvis seems very wriggly at the moment, still really hard and uncomfortable so hoping they will move down soon!

Keep getting cramps at the bottom of my stomach as well, hoping that is just the baby dropping down but not convinced, cant wait to be at home getting ready, have something planned every day from tomorrow until next Tuesday so am hoping i dont go mental before then!

36+2 and im starting to get fed up now :)

I have vivid dreams all the time anyway as well, they seem to get worse in pregnancy.

The worst thing about it is waking up feeling more tired than when you went to sleep!

Make the most of sleeping whilst you're off. I could go back to bed already, and the baby's asleep, but alas there are other children runing about :rotfl:
