aww thanks everyone. i hear what ur saying but when i hate hospitals anyway and being apart from my hubby and kiddies then staying at home and riding it out even with pain is more apealing. least i'm with the 4 people who love me the most.

however a community midwife text and said could she pop in. she was lovely. so kind. my bp is the same as thurs which is brill, but she thinks i may have spd which is why all the pain.and she looked any my lower back and said it lloks outof line or something. i don't know. but she said spd will make all the pains worse. no idea what it is really. and at this stage of pregnancy i'm not gonna google it as it doens't really make much difference now.

But she did say i must go up if i get another night like last night. she understand i proberly wont, but i shouldn't feel like i can't go up there.

there are some wonderful midwife around. shame it is ruined by 1 nasty one. however hubby and i have said any future children i think we will go private. Granted i'll prob have same midwifes as nhs but the standard of care is outstanding ( i used to work on the private ward) and we will feel more in control. may seem extreme but it is amazing how one person can make you feel.

what with fil and now this nasty midwife , i seem to have spent the entire pregnancy crying and upset.my poor baby.

but havign said that there is truely nothign more amazing than bringing a baby into the world and being so full of love for them. it is amazing. i have an amazing husband , 3 ( nearly 4 ) gorgeous children what more could a girl ever really want. ( well i'd love for our little angel to be here also). we have so much to be grateful for. that another 4 days in pain i'm sure i can handle it. somehow. for all the rewards hubby and i will get in the future from this little one.

I've just had the following conversation with DH:

Him: Ummm do you know what you're doing with the baby?

    Me: How do you mean?

Him: Well when we bring him home from hospital what are you actually going to do with him?

Me: Well I kind of thought we'd figure it out when the time comes...

Him: Haven't you read the books?

    Me: Haven't you?

The following thoughts now spring to mind:

    1) We are both completely incompetent and have no idea what we are going to do with this child

    2) He clearly expects me to know everything automatically

    3) What ARE we going to do with the baby as soon as we get him home?
Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T
  • I found G&A didnt really do anything for me. At one point it made me woozy after breathing it but after that it did nothing.

On the subject of the internal, I had a woman do mine and that was when she found it was a foot coming first. She asked before doing it and I gave permission. After she called the rest of the team, a male doctor came and did an internal, however I didnt give permission for this and he didnt ask. He didnt even wait for the contraction to end and was very rough. I dont know if there is anything you can do about it though but Im sure he didnt also need to examine me as she told them it was a foot. She seemed annoyed with him though I recall.

I would suggest taking off his coat firstly :p and giving him a cuddle!
You'll either breastfeed him or make him a bottle up when he wants one, you might have to change his nappy etc. The hospital will help you if you havent done these things before. Its all simple really. The baby will cry if they want/need something/have a pain etc you just have to go through the motions to find out the problem.

I've asked DH questions like that, and he just winks and tells me I'll know what to do. Um, I don't dear, children weren't exactly my thing before we decided to have one- I have more of an inkling what to do with a rugby ball than a child. And the crying/screaming thing- everyone keeps assuring me I will know soon which one means 'Feed Me' and which one means 'Let me SLEEP!!'. I'm not entirely convinced.

It's probably quite silly- we decided it would be more fun to find out the gender when it's born. Plus, we've a dinner bet staked on it. Still- I was whispering the girls name and boys name we've chosen to my bump today to see if it responded to either.....

Well my little dude is 5 weeks now and I still dont know which cry is feed me and which is let me sleep! He does his feeding cues when he is hungry so feed me is him trying to eat his hands, blanket, my arm, my shoulder, my top, his top, anything he can get at with his mouth! :rotfl:I think you can just tell by their face if they are tired.
It will all come to you though, it might take a few weeks to get the hang of things but it really will all just come, I promise. :)
