I've never had a steriliser or bottles.. I intended to breastfeed and therefore did.. had, for some reason I needed such things i'd have gone out and bought them then.. I definitely would not have them in before they were needed. It is also not advised you express until at least 6 weeks and also BF babies are a bit stroppy about taking a bottle.. so unless you actually intend to express and bottle feed I wouldn't bother. Only 1 of mine was happy to have boob or bottle the others it was boob or they didn't eat!!!! (their choice not mine!)

sparkle you can use the dish washer to sterilise, thats what they do sterilise things, we have bought a baby steriliser though as i dont want to put a dishwasher on just for bottles or keep waiting for it to be full to put it on. also if you dot rinse your plates first you may stain the bottles with certain food colours.

pigpen, do you know why they advise not to express before six weeks, i have not heard of this as i have express straight away with both of mine, (generally because as i sit in the bath it just pours out anyway so why waste lol)

Hi ladies! Great bump pics!

I had an appointment with the midwife today and she said baby is 4/5 in relation to brim.. not sure what that means! Is it 1/5 in place or 4/5 in place? lol how confusing! Also found out the midwife led unit I planned to go to is closing at the end of the month for 3 months so I have to go elsewhere to have baby, not pleased really.

Took the PJ's I bought back to Peacocks for a refund and they had a sale on so I ended up getting a blue flowery nightie and a dark blue dressing gown. So there's some more for the hospital bag! Also got a cheapy toothbrush incase I need it. I tried the nightie and gown on and I couldnt believe how big I look, proper huge! :rotfl:And my mum says my bump has dropped :eek:

Had a big (slow) walk around town with my sister and had some food and now Im aching in my thighs and hips lol I guess thats my punishment for walking so far.

Ive found my first stretch mark! It is where my tummy piercing used to be inbetween the top and bottom hole bits. Its quite sore, I didnt know they would be sore? Unless my clothes are rubbing against it, Im not sure.

Have been home an hour or so now so you will be out of the door, yay We have had a power cut, i am alone, when the power goes off i lose all phone signal so am totally cut off and dinner was vile so is in the bin - one of those days lol

Thanks, i am trying not to worry about it, there have been some family issues over the last few days so i am thinking that most of my mood is probably that catching up on me, and being away from OH while i am at work.

Hope your last few days fly by so that you can be at home resting and relaxing with bump before it becomes the bundle of joy

You can't get any kind of maternity pay at the same time as normal pay. You are either on maternity leave or not. All you can really do is return to work and reduce your hours by 1) using holidays, 2) taking unpaid leave or 3) request a temporary reduction in hours. All of these require agreement from your employer though.
If you were signed off sick after your OML you might be allowed a phased return to work combining regular pay and sick pay. Not 100% on that though.

Loving all the bump pictures. Starting to feel a little less like a heifer now

2 referrals have been sent in (9 weeks and 16 weeks.. I am now 23 weeks).. they had their chance I don't do second chances usually. I honestly think they refused to do them on the grounds I refuse to see the consultant.

thats !!!!!!.
i usually complain about the level of care recieved by my midwifes etc
(i.e measuring over 3 weeks ahead at my last 2 appt. and should have a scan but then being told i dont really need one, and theyll just check me at my next appt. when im 38 weeks!)
but the physio care i have had has been great. i didnt even get referred just got the physio dept at the hospital and told them i was pregnant and wanted an appt. i just phone them when i want something instead of going through the midwife

lol.. the level of incompetance is pretty high tbh and they wonder why I don't want to see them or have anything to do with them. if there was somewhere here that did the dating and anomaly scans privately I wouldn't even tell them I was pregnant I'd just have those done.

The first physio referral I got a letter asking me to ring to make an appointment (why do they not just send appointments when they get the referral???.. that isn't my job!) anyway.. it said 2 weeks from the date of the letter which was 4 days after I received it (it took 10 days to get 4 minutes drive up the road!!!) which made it a bank holiday Monday (Mayday I think).. so when I rang the next day it was 15 days and they wouldn't make the appointment.. but I had appt for bloods the wednesday so she sent the second referral in suppposedly and I've heard nothing.. so bollards to them.

I don't think you can self refer for anything here.. not that I would anyway.

I've said before though there really isn't anything they can offer that will help so it is a waste of my and their time.. they can give my appointment to someone who might appreciate it and get something from it. I have issues with physical contact with people I am not extremely well acquainted with..

On another my hormonal brain is incredibly suspicious about the amount of time OH is spending chatting online to his female friend again... made more suspicious by the fact he keeps clearing the conversation and hiding it whenever I could possibly see the screen.. having KH sleeping around doesn't seem to have done much for my insecurities.
