That is quite a big difference really.. I don't have pics of me pg with most of mine.

I was fairly immense though.. think I have one with Tiddles somewhere.. I need to go hunting now lol..

    335weekbumpava.jpg

That was 33.5 weeks.. she was born a week later and I was bigger with DD3 and DD1 than I was with her!!!!

This was 33 weeks with Squeak (last July). I got much bigger than this with fluid retention due to my kidneys stopped functioning properly. I've got one from the night before she arrived somewhere

  • I have piles now to add to my list of ailments.

The doctor has given me some cream but seems to think it probably won't go away until after Harrison is born.

Hopefully the cream will enable me to be able to sit down though, I actually feel like rubbing some icecubes on it (not in a kinky way btw) as it's so sore. :(

I'm 34 weeks & 3 days now but they have said they will be inducing me 2 weeks early so only 3 weeks & 4 days to go. :j

Pigpen I hope your thrush gets sorted soon.

I hope everyone else is well bar the usual aches & pains.

Would someone mind helping me here? My company has many locations, and I'm quite fond of the one I'm in. They've asked me to give them a rough idea of what my plans are, and they don't seem to know much of their own maternity policy (which seems to be fairly cut and paste from directGov!). Can I do the below? Or do I have to take either all OML and all AML, or can I graduate a return during AML?
I'm asking them to clarify that for me, but they have taken it as me asking for a return as part-time staff, not full-time, and it's going in circles talking to them...
Head is scrambled a bit now (fairly regular reaction from a chat with our HO, TBH)- does what I've written below make any sense?

    __________________________________

OML- 26 weeks- can return to place I currently work in. AML- 26 weeks- no guarantee, all aspects of contract apply bar salary, so is a phased return possible within AML, and would I still be able to return to my current location?

SMP applies for all maternity, but after the 10 keeping in touch days have been used, any week I work for my company after that results in no SMP for that week, so clear there.

If I take the full OML, do I have the option to graduate a return to full-time during AML and still return to my current location?

Lirin, I'm really sorry but I don't understand what you mean.
Do you want to return after 26 weeks?
Or do you want to return later but be guarenteed your current location so are trying to work out how you can return later than 26 weeks but on less hours for a while so you can return to the same location?

Sparkle, we've got the Tommy Tippie breast pump, microwave steriliser and bottles. Got them from Mothercare when they had £20 off £100, and the TT stuff was half price too. TT seems to be on offer quite often, which is handy for buying more bottles in the future. The lady in Mothercare demonstrated the pump and it's not too noisy, and the silicon bit that your boob goes into seems soft and ridge free.
Other than that I can't really help as first time mummy myself.

WW, We've got a Natwest Ad Gold acc with free travel insurance, I rang them and they said I'd be covered as normal upto 32 weeks - so if there was any pregnancy related probs they would treat it just like any other medical problems. After 32 weeks they just don't give cover.

Lirin the way I understand it is that once you do any work over and above your 10 keep in touch days, you are deemed to have returned to work and your maternity leave and pay, ordinary or additional, would end and you would be considered back at work, or on annual leave if you planned to use some annual leave to phase a return.

That said, I'm not using any KIT days so I may be wrong on how they work!

think the hormones have kicked in, just had an argument at work and ended up crying in the toilets :(

Lirin sorry, i cant help with the KIT days - maybe someone on the parents forum who has been there and done that will know better?

Sparky - i have two manual pumps, the TT one that was half price and the free Nuby one - i am hoping to BF for as long as possible so hoping they work well, if not a electric one will come once we have got the hang of it.

BCS - sorry you are suffering so much! How are you finding the MW? I have been really impressed with the MW i have and the care so far in N'pton, hope you are having the same experience!
