supermaiden it was like that with our first, until we had our second and we then got baby to fit around us.
we bought a highchair that he could lay in from newborn with blanket under him and when we sat at table for our meal he was in his chair next to us. or i would chop up my meal so i could eat one handed and still feed him. he soon fitted into our routine. as our routine was important with an 19month old, who knew her routines.
and they can wait a little bit. i would take it in turns at meal times with hubby.
might sound harsh but it really worked for us. also worked super when we had our 3rd and plan to do the same when this little one is born.
i wouldn't say we made mistakes with our first, but it is a huge learnign curve and you soon learn better ways to do things when other children come along, or how you can change things to adapt them better into fitting with the family.
now i've said that i bet next week when baby come our routines all go to pot,lol.0 -
I think the first changes your life completely - I remember going without meals etc and handing baby over to DH as soon as he walked in the door so I could get our evening meal started lol! But DS2 just slotted in - we had to keep to routines etc like school for DS1 so he had no choice really.Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

Congratulations on team pink mimi
Not had a very good day today, been very sick and tiredWent for a nap this afternoon and ended up sleeping for over 3 hours so will struggle to get to sleep tonight
I'm at the midwife tomorrow for my 32 week appointment. That has come round scarily quickly! I want to ask her about the size of my bump because a lot of people have commented on it recently saying how small it is and it's got me a bit worried that Flump isn't growing properly and getting all he needs because of me being sick all the time
I also want to speak to her about my birth plan as I have no idea whatsoever about the sort of things I need to put in it! Does anyone know of any examples etc online?
Oh, before I forget, thank you for everyone who replied to my question about cloth nappies. I am going to use disposables for the first few weeks but am definitely going to use cloth after that. Having done some research into costs etc I think we are going to try terries first and see how we get on with them as they seem a lot cheaper. If I don't get on with them, the nappies won't be wasted as they can be used for lots of other things instead, instead of muslins etc. I think we are going to go with the motherease wraps to use with them as they seem to have very good reviews
Hope all mummies and bumps are doing wellxxx

OMG!! SOrry this is nothing pregnancy related... DH just got home from kung fu, and said most of the roads around us are closed off by police, inc our local shops, due to threat of riots and looting, and one of the big fires is only about 10 miles away....
SCARY! Worried about going to bed now, incase they try coming via our back roads to get through instead. Maybe ought to keep our cat in tonight.:(Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Birth plan - typically, where your having baby, who you want there, what pain relief you want, whether your having birthing aids or not (water birth etc) erm .... can't remember rest! Don't get too Hung up on it, it might not go how you want it to. My first came so quick I couldn't have any pain relief, oh nearly missed it and my mum was amazing. This time I want a natural birth again but unfortunately mum won't be joining is so it will be oh's hand I squash by squeezing lol0

Congrats on Team Pink Mimi
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, she must be devastated
Kira whereabouts are you? I can't believe the mindless stupidity of these rioters, just hooligans who jump on the bandwagon purely because they get off on violence and destruction
Well I am up again for my middle of the night wander, went to the GP yesterday and he said they can't give me anything else for the back pain as 60mg of codeine is the max. He has referred me for obstetric physio at my hospital, we shall see how long that takes to come through. I am still off work because I am absolutely exhausted with the lack of sleep
I'm going to have to decamp to my parents for the next couple of days to get any sleep as we have the builder coming in today to knock down a wall in our bedroom and move our loft hatch. I'm dreading the mess, purely because I don't have the energy to clean it up, but I'll be glad once it is done and we can finally get on with moving all our stuff out of baby's room into ours. 2 weeks until we get our new windows fitted.
OH phoned his mum last night and she has confirmed that she is able to come up for our 28 weeks scan, so that's good news. Hope the hospital don't mind there being 4 or us in there with me and OH and both of our mums. If they complain I'll just say I need the support
Baby has been very active, but soon as OH places his hand on my tummy he stops moving and won't move again until he takes his hand off. Does this happen to anyone else?0 -

yep constantly lol, infact anyone who tries to feel it it, it just stops, my youngest son has felt it once a few weeks ago as he was laying his head on my stomach, using me for a cushion lol.
so everyday for the past week my brain is wide awake at 5.15am, normally i wouldnt mind as i get up around 6 for work anyway but it is the school holidays, i am not at work, i wold like a lay in.
my boys stayed at my mums last night so had a whole afternoon to get the house in some sort of order and hubby and me went out and got some bits and pieces sorted,
felt a real achievement until i sat down last evening and thought to myself omg where has the time gone when mum had the kids and i used to go out till all hrs of the morning clubbing lolnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0
