i'm nervous as well, i won't deny that :o but things can go wrong in hospital too, i don't mean that to scare people, i'm just saying the chance is still there. that's how my husband and i have looked at it anyway. also having a home birth there's far less chance of hospital interventions, which is something i don't want to be forced into unless it's absolutely necessary. :)

No, I quite agree that things can go wrong in hospital too. Mind up, a home birth wouldn't really work for us - our dog is far too nosey and would want to be right in the thick of things......

morning everyone, finally getting my bum in gear today, it's kind of hit me that my bag isnt going to pack itself, babba's bedding, towels, clothes ect arent going to wash/dry and iron themselves, things in bags arent going to unpack themselves and jump into the correct drawers, and i've also realised i need a few more bits so i've gotta do the dredded town run again, lol.
one thing i am aprehensive about is that i've bought some gorgeous babygrows and vests for little one to wear after birth and during the hospital stay but i dont wanna wash them yet incase i have to take them back and change them, i did that last time with my daughter, bought all new born bits, washed them all ready, then the little lump came out at 9lb 10 and nothing fitted! so i've packed everything this time as it's been bought from the shop, tags on and receipts tucked in the pocket of the bag (bought "up to one month" age range (10lbs)) by the feel of her kicks and the size of my belly i'm expecting to have chunk number two, lolololol, saying all that tho, even if she's average size the clothing will do wont it, be a bit big but i'll get more wear out of it eh?
nerves are starting to kick in about labour too, i just know that after two stupidly easy labours this one will be more of a test, and it's the one labour i really need to get through and home the quickest, ive so much to worry about with who i'm leaving my daughter with and her medications, i'm considering begging the childrens ward to accept her whilst i'm in hospital, it's on the floor above the maternity ward, just so i have total peace of mind and can concerntrate on the labour.....argh, theres always something isnt there?? i can imagine her sat outside the labour room with my mam and popping in for her injections midway thro contractions..oh lord :) oh well, i'm sure i'll sort it......i think :)

I have done exactly the same Twinkle! DD was 10lb 10 and nothing fitted her, so this time everything is still in carriers bags with receipts - i have bought up to 1 month and 0-3 months and wont be washing anything beforehand, you dont actually need to wash it beforehand anyway, its absolutely fine as is.
It does make me feel better knowing you are in the same boat as OH thinks im mental as i dont want to even unpack carrier bags until after the birth, so that will be a job for him and the MIL to do whilst i am in hospital!

except for the oil and dirt from the factory full of vermin, the chemicals and starch keeping stuff folded nicely and the smell and chemicals seeping from the plastic packaging... and the stuff hung up in shops which people walk past and wipe their hands and clothes and grot on.. and the dirt and dust from the shops...

I wouldnt wear a new item without washing it first!

I have washed everything for the hospital bag but we have bought very little newborn (midwife keeps threatening a big baby, as of todays appointment she says im looking at 9lber plus :o) the rest is 0 - 3 month which will hopefully fit even if we have a porker :)

On the plus side, if everything is washed and doesnt fit i can put it all on ebay or carboot it and get some pennies back :)

MW appointment today 34+5 and Elvis is still back to back, still wriggling and good heartbeat, urine was all fine and apart from a trotter rather than a foot (cankles extreme but only on one side) i am holding up ok.

Cant wait to finish work and am getting excited about Elvis making an appearance but am nervous as well, am sure thats all normal though .... well, normalish lol

Labour vibes to the boldies, Abbey and Sequeena im waiting for news :)

Dont forget your plevic floors ladies!

i suppose the "up to 1 month" items will be perfectly fine for a baby of 7lbs+, better to be slightly bigger than too small to fit at all eh?
my two were 7lb 7oz, and 9lb 10oz, my oh has kids from a previous relationship and they were 10lb 8oz, and 8lb 10oz, then there's our porker we had together, so if this baby was any less than 7lb i'd be very surprised!
so ive made an exectutive decision that EVERYTHING is getting washed this afternoon (everything is brand new), cos 7lb or 10lb, it's gonna get worn!!! ok, here i go :):j

I am not washing anything until week after next.. 32 weeks is plenty early enough.. and I need to soak the stained stuff in napisan to get it good and clean..

Just finishing shifting stuff back into the girls room so the empty room and landing can be reclaimed and the new windows are going in next week :D

I am pretty horrified by how quickly I have got to imminent birth status!!! (DS3 was born at 31 weeks!!) .. that is next Saturday  I am so incredibly tired.. I need to be where we are at now housewise about 6 weeks ago!

i'm now 35+6, my mother is panicing cos i just dont seem to be prepared at all, ive made a little start today but i keep popping on here, or the phone will ring, or the kids need feeding, i really need a full day to myself to get everything, bought and sorted but that aint gonna happen so i'll just plod on and hope for the best :)
when i was this far along with my other 2 i was all done and dusted and sat twiddling my thumbs which made it drag even more.
