Right ladies.
Induction stories now please. Try not to frighten me.
Basically was meant to have this sweep at 9am, slept in, went in at 12 she couldnt do it as my cervix was long and posterior (ie its retreated!) and was only 1cm dilated (it was 2 before so I am convinced the previous 2 attempts have destroyed me) and I wasn't going to be having this child any time soon.
Usually book inductions for 12+ but as she couldnt see any sign of me going into labour EVER she said if you want it tomorrow I will try! I explained that tomorrow is easier because it gives me the whole weekend to give birth and dads at home so can ferry mum to me. I probably will have to get the train to the hospital in the morning because I don't want to make dad drive to lancaster and then back again to get mum 6 hours later etc.
But yes. Induction stories, the nicer the better pleaseMoney money money.

I'm with pigpen on the washing. Everything I have for little B to wear is a hand-me-down so not an issue for me but if I didn't want to take the labels from everything I'd wash a couple of vests and babygros in each of the first 2 sizes. I sew a few of my clothes and youre ALWAYS told to prewash fabric as there is so much nasty stuff on it from the factory and they even sometimes treat it to make it appear better in the shop. The same must apply to clothes. I wouldn't dream of buying a box of plates and using them without washing first.0

afternoon ladies, gorgeous day here, sun is shining and the humid air has gone.
After the boldies i share 3rd spot with doglover !!!!!! very scary.
i was finding myself getting into a bit of apanic in bed last night. as ok so i've had 3 sectins , i know what to expect and i've never had a prob. but that still doesn't mean i'm not s**t scared because tbh i really am.
i want our little man here so much, and i'm very excited although i'm partly thinking it still doesn't seem real. i can't imagine imagine little baby that i've made as it is just too mind blowing. but the hr while in in theatre and all that i'd rather just skip if at all possible. i know that can't happen. it gotta come out and either way it gonna hurt either in the process of trying to push, or after when trying to get back to normality ( whatever that is )
but i am really really really scared.
but not dwelling on it. so i'm still listing on ebay, back and forth to post office like it a second home, lol.that god it only a 3 min walk away if that.well would be if i didn't waddle.
moved our dining room around yesterday and had good sort out, now i'm on to sorting the kitchen. hubby and i were up till 1am thursday morning planing the house and things to do, so thursday i starting getting on with it,lol. when he came home i said i hope u meant what u said as i've sold the furniture you said about selling last night and i got the full price we wanted. i think he was shocked, but then he knows me when we talk about something it don't tkelong to put it into action,lol0 -
abby i've given u mine hun earlier , but think that was a few pages back now. i had the gel, worked very very quick. so quick the staff didn't believe me at first. and considering i was trying to push a baby out breech i didn't really hurt. not like i imagined it would. however nothing to do with the induction but baby was breech. so ended in section. had she not of been then i would of had a very quick and easy labour.0

Ah yes I remember! Well...I'm terrified of having to have a section. So lets hope he isn't breech!Money money money.

the night before i was induced i was kept in and i remember watching casulty or something and someone had a section, and as i was tucking in to my kfc ( hospital food is rank so hubby came with supplies, lol) i said no way am i having section !!!!
then in all the rush and panic of my quick labour when they said my dd was distressed and had to be delivered i really didn't care. and tbh i can't remember any of it. i was awake and i've photos to prove it. but i've no memory of the section. i was just so pleased to get her in my arms and safe.
sections are nice and painfree, and i'm freaking out becuase i so wanted natural and i think i feel so let down by my own body.and i don't want to be in threatre, i really want it all the happen naturally and do it right. i feel so angry with myself that i'm getting myself in a panic.( silly i know) but you really don't have any pain and then within a few hours your up and walking about. i was even having s*x 2 days later the night i got home. i've heard of some who have natural and don't have it for week's. so there is bonus to it.0 -
Thanks for the earlier vibes ladies - I am very pleased to report the child's head is engaged and we are good to go any time now. I am still booked in for a sweep in 2 weeks time (due date) but hopefully it won't come to that. Very happy things are progressing as they should be.Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0

except for the oil and dirt from the factory full of vermin, the chemicals and starch keeping stuff folded nicely and the smell and chemicals seeping from the plastic packaging... and the stuff hung up in shops which people walk past and wipe their hands and clothes and grot on.. and the dirt and dust from the shops...
I wouldnt wear a new item without washing it first!
Well i guess we are all different then arent we? Most hospitals arent the cleanest, and the amount of people that handle the baby over the first few weeks could have any sorts of germs.
I do have a pack of dettol wipes packed for wiping around the crib at the hospital and my own hand sanitiser for the hospital bag - germs picked up at the hospital pose more of a problem IMO than clothes that are brand new and havent been washed. An there is no way i am washing them until i know baby will fit in them as thats not very MSE!!;)Due 26th July, team yellow0 -
