My induction was fine abby! i had gel in the evening, nothing happened, I had some more gel the day after my cervix opened to 2 and half cm i still wasnt in pain or having any contractions they took me to delivery suite, broke my waters abour 7pm, contractions started they left me for an hour or so before putting me on a drip I laboured through the night with gas and air and pethadine, I was still only 3 cm about 3am so was recommended I have a epidural so I could relax and have some rest, by 7am I was 10cm, pushed for an hour and out he popped :) i'd heard all the horror stories about inductions but they arent all the same, good luck hopw it all goes well :) xxx

I think it is 11 weeks before baby is due. I'm taking early maternity leave at 32 and a bit weeks. I'm 30+6 today and am now on annual leave until my maternity kicks in :)

Kandboys - I got one of those agent bottles too :) you just have to join the agent baby club and you get a mystery gift :)

Nothing much to report here today...sickness and heartburn but then that's nothing new!

Good luck abby and sequeena :) xxx

Its certainly that where I work (NHS) I'm planning on starting mat leave then but have also got 5 wks hols to take so am looking at an early Oct finish when I'm 24 weeks pregnant :j:j

I'm hoping I actually make it that far I'm 15 wks and really not coping well with work atm the thought of 9 wks to go is a great one though :D I'm really hoping my pelvis doesn't give up on me before then ! Are you taking and annual leave before maternity leave commences and how far along are you now ?

    xx

Amanda im 20 weeks just now, and have been signed off work for the past 5 weeks with back problems so for me the earlier I can start the better. No holiday left to take as I used it up earlier in the year with getting married and moving house! Should have planned things a bit better :rotfl:

Im back to work on tuesday though part time till mid september and was planning on maternity leave starting 1st november, but if i can get out of there sooner then its better for me as my back is still niggling and i dont want it to seize up completly again.

I know what you mean though about the countdown to maternity leave starting, if i stay with the 1st november then ive got 12 weeks left of work and will be 32 weeks pregnant, but if i can go earlier it means 8/9 week left which is just amzing :j

hope you feel better soon though as its rougher than people lead you to beleive, they all seem to gloss over the fact that it can be really stressful and uncomfortable or because they didnt suffer they dont understand why you are. pet peeve of mine getting told but try x it worked for me.

What a fab start to the new yr 4nnabella :beer: I got very strangely excited over mine today but thats because i'm struggling with it already I've got SPD quite bad and am surviving on painkillers to get through my days already am waiting to see how much it progresses but would rather go on maternity leave than sick leave iyswim I don't really like being off sick and only ever do if I absolutely have no choice ! How many weeks pregnant are you ? Sorry I can't recall my memory is carp :rotfl::rotfl:I'm sure a few people would identify with me !

OMG!!! You mean there is a baby club that I haven't yet joined?!?!?

I thought you could take ML from 26 weeks pg, or 14 weeks before EDD. A girl I work with has just started hers at 26 weeks, she wanted to go as soon as possible as she is moving country to be with her OH.

because they didnt suffer they dont understand why you are. pet peeve of mine getting told but try x it worked for me.

Oh that REALLY annoys me when people say things like that. 'Eeeeh, I didn't have any back pain when I was pg' or 'I had SPD but I still managed to go to work'. The further on I get in this pregnancy the worse my language is becoming. Poor OH bears the brunt of it, I don't swear at him but he has to listen to me wandering around muttering profane language under my breath, or ranting about the 'bleeping bleep at Asda, who bleeping decided to bleeping change all the bleeping shelves around so it bleeping took me bleeping twice the bleeping time to do the bleeping shopping when my bleeping back and legs are bleeping well killing me, AND ...... they didn't bleeping well have any bleeping mint choc chip ice cream either!!!!!!!!!'

Hope things are progressing nicely for Sequeena and Abby

Ha. Progressing.... Am sat on a bed watching Breaking Bad and waiting for them to find me on their system. They didn't know I was coming in apparently. So have to check with "downstairs" so this 8am induction sounds like a 10am if they even decide to.

As for the midwife saying it could take days I really hope it doesn't and my young body kicks off and gets going. I'll run out of films to watch otherwise!
