    Morning everyone.

First things first - Abby soooo sorry you're still here (in the nicest possible way of course :o)

Mirror - I think that's a lovely photo. Nothing to worry about.

Now a small request from you all if OK - pleeeeease can you send vibes my way that at my MW appointment this afternoon this child has now engaged?! I need some hope that I am not going to be bored out of my brain for another 4 weeks waiting for this boy to arrive!
Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T

So I'm not in the best of moods.

huge labour vibes to abby and sequeena and for clarieloo some baby, please be engaged vibes :T

i'm feeling manky today, have done since yesterday, i don't know if it's morning sickness brought on from being tired or whether i've picked up a bug from antenatal classes again. i enjoy the classes but i don't like the germs i seem to pick up there!

had my 34 week midwife appointment yesterday, seems baby and i are back to back, don't know if that's bad or not? but baby is still nicely head now and i'm measuring bang on 34 weeks :D

we also arranged for a midwife to come out to us next week for a home birth prep and plan  after quite a lot of thinking, reading, talking to each other and a couple of midwives we decided to try for a home birth. we're still not a 100% sure about it, but i know i can change my mind at any point and go to hospital. i'm quite excited about it :D

on spending money on our baby we haven't gone overboard - like abby we dont see the point - but we haven't been really money saving either. my mum and dad got us our pram which had £90 off it. we saved quite a bit on the car seat by getting it from amazon. we got a £120 crib for £64.99 because of a mothcare c**K up. saved loads on bedding by using vouchers we got ages ago. used vouchers for nappies and got stuff in baby events. and we've had a few bits off one BIL and might get some stuff off another BIL.

so we could have saved more but it's our first baby and so have splashed out a bit when we could afford to :D

Spending money- we haven't really got much, so we can't spend much. Simple.

Baby doesn't know how much anything cost, and second-hand is just as good- I'm terrible for car boot sales, Ebay, charity shops- you never know what you'll find.... We've also had mountains of stuff promised to us- a lot of baby stuff only does for a few months, then it's taking up room.

I do have the very odd moment when I get girly and I'd love to buy completely new, but that isn't going to happen. I have a friend whose wife is pregnant, and they're racking up on credit cards as everything has to be new- despite having an attic full from their other children. That's storing up trouble for the future.....

Besides, I like searching for a bargain! Used to haggle beside my dad on holidays in Europe when I was a child- it's a game!

Ironing- DH has been told more than a few times it's lucky he's short. Less to iron. :)

    Good morning ladies

Congrats to smileyface - can't wait to see photos of the fruits of your 36 hour epic!!

Abby - gutted for you that you're still here. Every day is a day closer though.... :)

    Labour vibes to other boldies

"Baby be engaged" vibes to Claireloo

Little Angel - jealous of your decision to have a home birth - I'd love one but DH is far too nervous of anything going wrong....

Re: spending - this is our first baby too and we want to make sure we've provided the best. Having said that, we've barely spent anything. We've had a cot, moses basket, baby Bjorn carrier and bath-rest given to us free, I won my breast pump from Nuby FB, my parents bought our pram, my rocking chair was £36 new from Ebay (bargain of the year!) and nursery bits and bobs are from Ebay too (mobile, bumper etc). Everything else I've bought has been on offer - not bought anything full price. I'd rather have the money to stay off work a month longer than baby have everything new. (Having said that, we've bought hardly any clothes with a view to buying the right colour once he/she is here so may go a bit mad then!! :D)

34 weeks tomorrow - RLT will be upped to 2 a day. The stairs were carpeted yesterday on my day off and I got the rest of the baby washing and ironing done. 15 days left at work. It's starting to feel semi-real now (think I'm still in denial that there's a baby in my belly!)

    xDx
Fear is temporary, regret is forever.....

i'm nervous as well, i won't deny that :o but things can go wrong in hospital too, i don't mean that to scare people, i'm just saying the chance is still there. that's how my husband and i have looked at it anyway. also having a home birth there's far less chance of hospital interventions, which is something i don't want to be forced into unless it's absolutely necessary. :)

My bargain was the pram- Hauck Shopper for £20....plus the car seat for free :) Girl who owned it had used it twice, til her parents visited bringing a Quinny. Looks new, and she gave me furry lining things for it as well.

Avent- must have entered something, got sent bottles in the post free.....

Maternity clothing and a couple of baby bits- steriliser and so on- given away free on freecycle.

Home birth- we have a huge jet bath, have seriously considered it! As it is, I'm having trouble getting out of it now, so could always end up inadvertantly being a home water birth anyway.... :)

morning everyone, finally getting my bum in gear today, it's kind of hit me that my bag isnt going to pack itself, babba's bedding, towels, clothes ect arent going to wash/dry and iron themselves, things in bags arent going to unpack themselves and jump into the correct drawers, and i've also realised i need a few more bits so i've gotta do the dredded town run again, lol.
one thing i am aprehensive about is that i've bought some gorgeous babygrows and vests for little one to wear after birth and during the hospital stay but i dont wanna wash them yet incase i have to take them back and change them, i did that last time with my daughter, bought all new born bits, washed them all ready, then the little lump came out at 9lb 10 and nothing fitted! so i've packed everything this time as it's been bought from the shop, tags on and receipts tucked in the pocket of the bag (bought "up to one month" age range (10lbs)) by the feel of her kicks and the size of my belly i'm expecting to have chunk number two, lolololol, saying all that tho, even if she's average size the clothing will do wont it, be a bit big but i'll get more wear out of it eh?
nerves are starting to kick in about labour too, i just know that after two stupidly easy labours this one will be more of a test, and it's the one labour i really need to get through and home the quickest, ive so much to worry about with who i'm leaving my daughter with and her medications, i'm considering begging the childrens ward to accept her whilst i'm in hospital, it's on the floor above the maternity ward, just so i have total peace of mind and can concerntrate on the labour.....argh, theres always something isnt there?? i can imagine her sat outside the labour room with my mam and popping in for her injections midway thro contractions..oh lord :) oh well, i'm sure i'll sort it......i think :)
    Skint, but happy (ish):p
