Took me so long to type my post there was loads of other replies.
Skintcatt- Of all the people I know who have had babies, not one of them has had to fight a case with a GP over being signed off. My GP was really keen to sign me off at about 10 weeks - I didn't want to because of things I had on, so I would go and have a chat with them. I would have thought they would have to be really careful about not signing someone off. Hope you're feeling better soon anyway.
Can't believe in 2 months I'll be finished for for over 14 months!!!

Hellooooo I'm back from two weeks in not-so-sunny France. Still was a nice break from work.

Havn't read all the way back but see we have had a few births so HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all the new mummies :T

Disaster of a plumbing nature on our return means we need to move in with the inlaws until Friday from today:eek: Hope this baby decides to stay put while all the cr*p in my life is sorted out.

I am 31+3 today. Have started to think about packing my hospital bag this weekend. I have more or less done the baby's bits but can't face doing my own. I have only just unpacked from hols and basically CBA :rotfl:

Any other big news I've missed?
Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T

Last Monday in work of 2011 :j:j:j

Labour Vibes to Smlsave & stay put vibes to Sequeena!

Good luck for GTT tomorrow Ddebski! Im sure it'll be fine!

Fab bump pic JCR I will post a pic one day, feeling massive at the moment!

After reading back apparantely my first job once I start maternity leave should be to clean my oven, considering I have never cleaned it & it's over a year old - that should be fun! I also really need to pull out fridge, freezer and washing machine to clean behind - I was hoping my nesting instinct would have kicked in by now and I would have done it but apparantely I have no nesting instinct and am intent on being lazy forever! :D

I think I have everything I need now for baby but still have this nagging feeling that something is missing....not sure what it is though which is very helpful :rotfl:

Oh and I have also developed stretch marks on my side :( was hoping to have got away with them but life is cruel! Still I thought back to that poem that Anderson8 posted and it reminded me that I don't really care that much!

I can't believe there is a baby inside my belly either, I was watching a film last night on the sofa and she was wiggling around like anything but I still can't quite comprehend that there is a mini person inside!

Hope everyone else is well and hugs where needed xx :grouphug:

A GTT is a Glucose Tolerance Test - it looks for diabetes and Gestational diabetes :) I had mine at 28 weeks because my father is type 1 diabetes and I was having hypoglaecemic episodes (passed with flying colours though).

It's not standard in the UK to have one (is in the US). You're only offered one if you are over a certain BMI, have hypoglaecemic episodes, family history, baby measuring weeks ahead etc.

Debs you'll be fine. The early start is a killer but once things got going I found the time passed pretty quickly and I actually enjoyed the glucose drink as it was the first thing I'd had other than water since 10pm the evening before (my test started at 8:45am).

Congrats to the new mummies and labour vibes for those who needs them!

I would love some 'keep Thomas in!!' vibes if you can spare any. I'm off for another scan today to see if the AFI has increased (was only 1-3cm last week, I'd lost 8-10cm in 4 weeks). If not then my consultant says induction could be the path we go down (I do not want him here at 34 weeks if I can help it!!).

Strange thing is if he is born this week or next week he'll be born at the same gestation I was... they say premature babies don't run in the family but it makes you think doesn't it...

8 of my 9 have been prem.. I was also early as was OH.

    My 34 weekers were 4lb9-4lb 13

    Morning ladies.

I'm feeling brave so here is a pic of my huge 31 week bump. Warning tho likely to fill your whole screen ,lol

    baby31weeks.jpg

I can't get over how hard my bump is all the time, feels like it is permantly contraction. but when the braxton hicks go, it goes completly like jelly. so weird.and i've got a hard bit under my left boob which mw said feels like a bum by how baby is laying and you can see it move when he turns. it is completely alien like, but also so wonderful. still it is nice to have a baby the right way round for once.

If that counts as huge !!!!!! does that make me? I was bigger than that at 15 weeks!!! And I am smaller with this one than I was with most of the others!

JCR- I'll maybe post up a photo of me later, if I remember. You're tiny! I'm coming up to 17 weeks, and well- mine seems to think it'll live in a mansion when it's born.....
  • JCR- i'm the same size if not bigger than you at 28+2, is a bit hard to tell as i'm carrying differently, but i'm definitely at least as big as you! you look great btw.

i'm quite excited as my natal hypnotherapy cd has just arrived :j can't start listening to it until i'm 32 weeks though.

forgot to say this earlier, i had my first definite braxton hicks the other morning, was very strange experience.

JCR I always get massive lol. Think i'll be that size way before 31 weeks.

I'm not exactly skinny now :rotfl:

Hope everyone is feeling OK and all tests go well xx

Apricot I think my nesting just kicked in! I've just hand-cleaned the toilet floor with dettol and a cloth instead of the mop and bucket so I could do the skirting boards whilst in there. I then noticed some cobwebs high up in one of the corners (we have really high ceilings) so got the hoover attachment extended ready to blast them and before I knew it, I had hoovered, yes hoovered, every square inch of the toilet walls with the brush attachment to make sure there was no other dust on them :rotfl:

The toilet bin and brush are currently in the bath soaking in bleach, the bathroom blind has been hoovered, all the skirting boards washed in dettol, and all the other paintwork wiped down. DH thinks I've gone mad because I only went up to clean the loo and the sink and I've been up there about an hour :rotfl:

Not bad really considering my back and pelvis feel like they're splitting in half - not sure where the burst of energy came from, but it's done. I rewarded myself with a bowl full of strawberries and cream :D

I've done nothing today.. loaded dishwasher, tesco run, docs with Squeak, picked up moomins boots and been to the chemist at the end of the street for Squeaks drugs..

Better still.. I don't WANT to do anything it can all stay messy I don't care.
