Aarrgghhh Apricot I feel for you! I had that for about 3 weeks with both my boys as they were 2 weeks late. I ended up saying oh yes I had him I just didn't let anyone know!!
I'm still worried about the milk in hospital thing. I think I'll have to ask my midwife when I see her in a couple of weeks. Problem I have is my milk never comes in - flat pancake boobs for me lol! So I'll need to bottle feed. Now I don't mind taking my own in but I need to know in advance as I'm also having a c-section so not going to be mobile and making up bottles for a few hours.Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
Lirin, you are entitled to have the birth that you choose to have, the consultants try and make you go down their route, but it is your choice, your body and your baby.
My consultant told me that from being 3cm i would have to be constantly monitored as i had a c-section. The scar will be nearly 6 years old by the time i give birth, and the chance of rupture is less than 1% so i discussed it with my midwife as i want to have an active labour and possibly a waterbirth. She was really supportive and she knew that i had done my homework and wouldnt accept being strapped to a bed for hours on end so we agreed to intermittent monitoring and i will putting waterbirth on my birth plan.
I think birth plans are done in the last 4 weeks, defo not at 20 week stage but nothing wrong with getting MW to annotate it at your next appt xxDue 26th July, team yellow0 -

:rotfl: sounds like a plan!

My hospital still provide milk but surely even those that don't have some back up supplies for those who can't actually produce breastmilk? Seems a bit unfair if they don't as im sure there are people who plan on bfing but then can't and to have to send the OH to get it would be a nightmare (my OH wouldn't have a bloody clue what to get!)Lirin, you are entitled to have the birth that you choose to have, the consultants try and make you go down their route, but it is your choice, your body and your baby.

The reason you can't have a waterbirth in my hospital if you are consultant led is because the birth pools are in the MW led unit which is on a different floor of the hospital to the consultant led unit. So although I do agree that everyone should get their first choice, it's not always possible.
My birthplan was done with MW at either 28 week appointment or 32 weeks (can't remember which) I know a lot of MWs don't bother to do it at all though so it's worth mentioning it yourself.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Hi all
Congratulations to all the new mummy's, labour vibes to those who want them.
Hope everyone is OK.
I had my 20 weeks scan last week and found that everything was as it should be I feel blessed, also we found out we are having a little boy which was a big surprise as we both thought we were having a girl, we are both over the moon.
We now just need a name for him as we hadn't got a boys name only a girls name
At the scan they estimated his weight to be 13OZ what was everyone elses?
Take care all

I've never had the chance to have a waterbirth - induction by drip every time, and last time I couldn't even move one of my legs so wouldn't have been able to get in or out anyway, OH had to lift me in and out of the bath at home because I couldn't stand in the shower! Thank goodness he is built like an ox is all I can say, I'd have got very dirty if I'd had a weaker OH :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Afternoon girls. Congrats on the recent births . Wow I'm zooming up that list. Think I've got 23 sleeps till our lil man is here. Wow wow wow can't wait had serious nesting over weekend . Every room including loft has been zapped. ToDay i' m carpet cleaning and tip running. Found some more boys clothes in loft and got our chic bouncy chair . Paid £80 for it sheikh last babywas born so im so pleased we kept it s they still same price.
Off topic but for those with other children I highly recommend cars 2. My son has been waiting to see it since he heard it was coming out so it was part of his birthday treat , although a couple weeks late. Wow it was brill my children were glued. Mator just cracked me up.
Will try and keep u all up dated a bit more as my time comes closer . He is really pushing down loads now and my Previous scar hurts a great deAl . I'm putting off getting it chEcked out as they mentioned sectioning earlier if too bad and I don't want that .0 -

I haven't been able to get in the bath for about 2 months.. it was really nice to have a shower when we went ot OH's mums.. and my last shower of this pregnancy looks set to be this coming Sunday when we are at his mothers again..which means a good few weeks of 'a wash' which is never good enough
2 hours drive just for a shower is extreme!.. especially when I can't walk for 2 days after that 2 hour drive!

i have to agree with apricot our hospital doesnt have a pool its in the midwife led centre which is a 30-40 min drive from hosp so if your consultant led you cant have a water birth. i really wanted one this time but its just not worth putting me or baby at risk for.:coffee:i find a cup of tea can solve most problems:coffee:
