Skint_Catt wrote: »Many thanks Alison! I was surprisingly relaxed with this one as it's my first until today anyway! My book suggests 1lb this week and 2.5lbs next week which I think is why I thought 3lb is a lot for 30 weeks but obviously isn't! I think my BMI was 27 when I got pregnant but suppose I just expected to get a big baby and now (potentially) the opposite is true. As long as Giblet's healthy though I wouldn't mind a smaller baby for the birth part if nothing else

My first was just over 10lb, that was epic!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Everyone needs to tell the hospital if their baby stops moving!
The thing is I knew that, but didn't expect him to mention it so pointedly to me (as if he was expecting it to happen!). I guess I just need to pay a tad more attention to the type of movement from now on rather than just cursing when Giblet hits a nerve:rotfl:

Hi all!
Eek - just read Sparkle's birth story - wow. But glad to here that there is the calm after the storm.
I've read back and as per can't remember a thing....
Apricot - which area of gthe world are you in? Same here with the birthing pool - midwife centre allows it for those low risk mums but any complications and your whisked off to the delivery suite upstairs...... I was considering a water birth - but you can't have pethidine if thats what you want.....so I'm going for a normal eviction in the knowledge that if I want pethidine i can just hop into the big ensuite bath in the room with G&A and pethidine!
Well, I dont know if Prune juice is just really effective or its the start of something.....I have had two small glasses of Prune juice on Sat and Sunday and this morning (TMI) there was a very 'loose' movement (sorry!) and my lower back just feels achey and full of pressure.....I was getting aches yesterday too...but I'm trying not to get my hopes up.
Weather is nice here again, hope you're all enjoying it!:heart2: Mummy to one gorgeous little girl :heart2:0 -
Just lurking and being nosyto see whose had their babies yet...:D
Gosh PP, how did you manage to do your skirting board painting and all that? I got stuck in the bath the night I went into labour with SPD, not pleasant:rotfl::j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
Skint_Catt wrote: »Just been for my 30 week scan (got others at 32 & 34 weeks) to monitor growth due to my high BMI.
I always thought it was because I'd be likely to have a big baby, but although the sonographer suggested he weighed 3lbs (eek - already?!) the consultant showed on the growth chart that he was the lowest of the range that they monitor.
He wouldn't tell me what the issue was if the baby remained low weight so can anyone help? Anything I can do to help the baby gain & me not?
He also really worried me making me promise that I would call midwife/ante-natal unit/hospital if Giblets movements changed. Does this mean there could be something seriously wrong? I regularly don't feel Giblet move for a couple of hours at a time (he's more active just after lunch & when I go to bed) but how do I know anythings wrong? How long should I wait before panicking?

DS3 was born at 31 weeks and was 3lb 10.. the 'scan' weight was about 6lb... don't take a blind bit of notice about their guestimates they are notoriously inaccurate!!! They also reckoned DS1 was 'about 9-10lb'... all 7lb 8 of him!
3lb at 30 weeks is normal anyway!vroombroom wrote: »Just lurking and being nosyto see whose had their babies yet...:D

I sit on the floor and shuffled about.. I can't get in the bath so won't get stuck in it... I can't get my leg over the side!
1 door and the fire surround finished the other door just needs another coat or 2 and it can be hung tomorrow.... have a new tin of the gold so I can whizz another coat on the door frames and radiator while dinner cooks
Decorator is here tomorrow papering so not only do I need to be up at 8am.. I need to have the girls up and dressed too.. and the beds shunted to the middle of the room.. dig the rollers out of the shed and Wednesday and Thursday I have my emulsion head on!.. should easily get 4 coats on if I get my act together... the room is immense!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hello ladies, well been for another appointment with the midwife today. Was really good, was teh same midwife who has been running our birthing classes and i get on with her really well. Few questions though, she has written in my notes that the baby is 'ceph 3/5' does this mean 3/5 of the head are in my pelvis or that 2/5 are in my pelvis. I'm 34 weeks so is this quite early for bubs to be engaging this far? Also mentioned my iron levels being a little low, but other than that all good!0

Afternoon everyone I hope we're all ok
Just a question about blood pressure. 4 days ago mine was 120/70 but today it's 130/90. My consultant didn't seem bothered so I guess neither should I... but I am a worrier :rotfl: anything to worry about you think?
Possible induction booked for 15 days time! I was asked if I wanted to go to term naturally and I said yes because it's only 10 days away but if I get to 40+5 I will need to go in because of my reduced fluid.
Going to be a mummy veeerry soon (possibly sooner than thought, just lost a huge chunk of plug though it's still only green and getting lots of back ache/stomach ache) :jWife and mother :jGrocery budget

I was thinking I would post my birth story once Id given birth, but now I dont see that I can since I dont even know most of it myself. I have to keep getting hubby to fill me in on pieces as I was so out of it for most of the day after the general anaesthetic.
Sequeena I hope baby comes for you soon and you get mummy cuddles as youve had so many problems it will be worth it all for you to see baby's little face
ecoelle from what Ive read it seems that the 3/5 means that is still to engage. So 2/5 are in place.:j0 -
More clearout going on here, my bum is so sore :rotfl: more plug too!Wife and mother :jGrocery budget
