Asda do some really, really pretty ones for £6, can't find them quickly on their site- think it's part of the George range.... I've just bought three marked down to a pound each.
Check Ebay as well, they're always on there.
asda are amazing. but it seems like theyve dropped their J line. I got what was there in my size when they had them but now i need more they suddenly stop at G! frustrating.
Found some nice maternity ones on ebay for about £10, so now its time to sweet talk the husband!Full-time Mum, Part-time freebie hunter0 -
I know I should probably start a new thread, but I'd best asking you ladies, you seem in the know, what pram/pushchair have you all went for?
This is my first and I generally have no clue whatsoever what I should be looking for. I went to mamas and papas but the assistants were a tad annoying.
Ideally I want it to be black in colour and have 4 wheels not 3. I'm not bothered about it having a built in car seat as we're planning on purchasing that separately. I want it to be a proper pram, i.e the baby is lying down, not scrunched up in a seat. So if anyone could at least point me in the right direction it would be great
Don't have a budget as such but I'm not paying £800+ for it.The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
hi all garage conversion half way through :T we are getting front wall built tomorow only prob is builder is arriving at 8am so no lie in and im absolutely desperate for one
and its going to take a week for window to be made  hoping itll be more or less finished by then so we can start decorating and get carpet.
only 4 more days to work :j
35+2 today these weeks are flying now i finally packed hospital case and car seat should be arriving this weekend so then we will be ready if baby gets impatient
i bought cheap non wired bras at first then went to mothercare and got measured for maternity bras only bought one pack with a black and a white think it was £25 for pack. wires are supposed to be thought to restrict milk ducts in some people which can be a prob if breastfeeding and can cause problems such as mastitis even if your not but im not sure how common this is. our mothercare is one of the large out of town ones and they have specially trained staff who measure you then bring bras and check fit (the size i measured was completely the wrong fit) im going back in a couple of weeks to be measured for feeding bras as you are supposed to wait till about 37wks. they tend to have a good section of reduced underware so will get measured then check that out. the main factor with bras is support otherwise youll end up touching your knees :rotfl:
on the issue of breastfeeding im definately going to but not because im against bottle feeding just because im lazythe thought of having to wash and sterilise bottles and make up feeds when i could just lift baby up and feed wares me out its the same reason i fed DS

Gilly we have bought the mothercare my3 its 3 wheels but they do a 4 wheel version they do it in black and the seat part turns into a 'proper pram' easily. folds up very small and can face either way other people may disagree but we are happy with it. it was £395 top price but they often do deals and it comes with everything you need except pram bag and parasol. sorry not sure how to do links but you can find it easily on mothercare website:coffee:i find a cup of tea can solve most problems:coffee:

Agree with you there. I got accosted by a 'breast-feeding expert' (that's how she introduced herself) last Tuesday when I went to see the midwife.
Her: Hi, my names ..... I'm the breastfeeding expert at the surgery. (Patronising tone) Is it your first baby?
Me: No
Her: Awww, how old is your other one? Did you breastfeed them?
Me: He was stillborn.
Her: Oh....
I had already decided I didn't want to BF this baby and she just wouldn't take no for an answer.
Her: I'll leave your notes clear in case you change your mind, ok?
Me: I'll cross the section out when I get home then.

Thanks for that had a look, will let OH have a look too, may go into the store to have a feel at it.
I hate some of the prams nowadays, don't even look like "Prams" at all, they're weird looking. I'm so old fashioned. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Hi everyone. What a cutie Madbird, you must feel very proud.
I've not got tons planned for today. DH and I are going curtain shopping for the nursery and then he's putting the cot up but other than that it'll be a lazy one.
I hope you all have a nice day x0 -
Morning ladies!
I've been up bright and sharp (2am) for the Next sale (5am)!!
I woke up yesterday at 4.30am and jumped out of bed thinking it was Saturday and Next sale day :rotfl: So last night I was asleep on the sofa by 7.30pm, hence the 2am wake up
I got a canny little haul of newborn stuff though, some of it I paid full price for a few weeks ago, and I've still got the tags attached, so will be taking the full price back and keeping the half price. I also got a 'Born in 2011' vest that I had tried to order online a few weeks ago and it had sold out, so I am well chuffed to get it in the sale
I'm just waiting for the online sale to go live at 8am, since I never got a VIP invite this timeProbably because I sent just about everything back last time!
Going to get my lashes and brows tinted today then might go to Asda for my free starter pack, and then back home for a nap. I must get my sleep pattern back on schedule as we've been on holiday for a week and I am back to work on Monday. 18 weeks to maternity leave0 -
Morning all.
Finding this breastfeeding lark difficult. Still cant get latched on. Im expressing throughout the day and night but finding it time consuming since I only have a single pump and it takes around 30 minutes each time. Bit sore today too as I havent expressed since 11ish last night, which is my own fault, Im just tired. Baby has been waking every 2 to 2 and half hours which is normal I think. He's drinking anywhere between 20-70mls :eek:and Im wondering how I will keep up with his demand. I keep talking about also introducing formula but husband isnt keen. I said I will try and keep this up for 4 weeks but then I want to see about formula. Which isnt ideal as I really wanted the breastfeeding to work.:j0 -

Not having had beanie yet, i cant really help with the technical side of BF, but it is something i am keen to give a go. I did some early research on breastfeeding support, just in case i need help getting going and was recommended this site as a good place to go to get practical help. Maybe you could see if there is a support group in your area, who might be able to give some advice that makes it easier?

Apols if you've already tried this route!
