Morning ladies, well i'm 33+1 today and starting to feel tired again, 4 more weeks til i break up for maternity and they are moving me to a new store next week. I'm happy about the move but just shattered.
I went to my first antenatal class on Thursday, it was really good, the midwife who was running it spent as long talking about natural pain relief as well as medications and was very big on homeopathy, and massage, and essential oils and the like. She got talking about TENS machines and i found this one at Lloyds Pharmacy for only £15, thought i'd mention it in case anyone was thinking of buying one, also, if anyone has this one, is it good? Are they much of a muchness? They seem cheaper to buy than rent so i think i'll get one but want to make sure it's a good one!
Well hope all are well, and having a good day, x x x0 -
ecoelle - Just make sure it's suitable for use in pregnancy. Some are just for general pain relief. Hope it is as that sounds a bargain!
Very wet day here today. DH wants to go car hunting later. Not convinced we can afford it as it would pretty much wipe out our savings but we'll have to see I guessThank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
Morning all, what a gorgeous day. rain is between heavy and spitty, so a nice snuggly day is to be had. it is hubby and i's 9th wedding anniversary today. were not actually doing much today apart form having a chinese once little ones are in bed. then we have a famiyl day planned out tomoz with the children. hoping the weather is dry but i'm sure were gonna have just as much fun if not. we haven't told the children the plan , they know we have a family day planned but that is all. so they will ber very excited.
feeling very lovey dovey today, madness to think i'm 29, married 9 years have 3 amazing children, 1 on the way, a husband who worships the ground i walk on and i do him. and yet sometimes it so easy to take it all for granted without reasliing how lucky i really am. But i genuinely do feel so proud to be a wife and mummy . My hubby is the best husband, and father ever i', so proud to be the mummy to his children and the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. and he's my bestest friend also. yes we have ups and downs like most but they only make you stronger.aaawwww. ( pass the sick buckewt as my cuz would say, lol) sorry told you i'm soppy and lovey dovey.
Back to pregnancy. Well You ladies have your revenge my belly has gone pop !!
i took this , this morning. bumps has popped out and dropped a bit. so much so that yesterday it felt like i was walking with a football between my legs oh it is so painful, and my bones felt like they were being pushed apart down below it was horrid.
but heres my bump.
i'm 35 weeks tomoz, but on wed my tummy was measuring 33, not sure how.
i'm really struggling at the mo with lots of back ache and braxton hicks. Midwife is still saying i should go up for monitoring as i'm getting scar pains. but she said she can understand why i'm not waiting to. i said at the mo although it bad i can bear it. but if i get to point when i think nope no nore then i'll go up then, although i'm not sure what they can do, as it only natural. maybe stronger pain killers, as paracetamol and ibro don't touch the pain.
got hospital on tues and then i think just one more A/N and thats it , till our little man is here, just 31 days. i can't wait. i'm so excited. still struggling witha name, but have come up with 2 other gorgeous names over the last week. 1 of them has even knocked off the name Logan which we really really liked which surprised me. but were not gonna make our minds up till he here now.
hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and taking it easy. or if not taking it easy as that is impossible if like me, but just enjoying what your up to.0 -

Finding this breastfeeding lark difficult. Still cant get latched on. Im expressing throughout the day and night but finding it time consuming since I only have a single pump and it takes around 30 minutes each time. Bit sore today too as I havent expressed since 11ish last night, which is my own fault, Im just tired. Baby has been waking every 2 to 2 and half hours which is normal I think. He's drinking anywhere between 20-70mls :eek:and Im wondering how I will keep up with his demand. I keep talking about also introducing formula but husband isnt keen. I said I will try and keep this up for 4 weeks but then I want to see about formula. Which isnt ideal as I really wanted the breastfeeding to work.
Hi supermaiden, definitely try and get support from midwives and breastfeeding support groups. There are various online ones, try https://www.laleche.org.uk And https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk
They both have advice lines you can call for advise and support. You are doing really well with expressing but it's hard work. You def need to get baby latched on to make life easier.
There is no point making life too difficult for yourself so don't feel guilty if you do end up using formula!!

This time next week i'll be in hospital getting ready for Harrison's to make his grand appearence. :eek:I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

supermaiden definately get help your midwife or hospital should be able to get help for you. i BF my son (no one apart from family expected me too as i was only 18) and although i didnt have loads of problems it took a few days for milk to come in and he lost weight and i couldnt express no matter how i tried. at the time (18 yrs ago) they had no support available thank god for my mum and sister. he eventually latched on properly my milk came in with avengence and i fed him till he was 12 mnths he put on lots of weight and i definately think it was good for him he was never sick, never ill not even a snuffle, and hardly ever cried. as he has grown up he has remained really healthy doesnt have any allergies (even though i have eczema and hayfever) has had fab skin through teenage yrs (i didnt and still dont) and very strong teeth ( he had to have all his baby teeth removed by dentist after adult teeth came in and they still had roots on dentist couldnt believe it) i really believe some of it is because i BF. i am the youngest of 4 mum fed all the others but only fed me for 2 wks as she was rushed back into hospital with complications and remained there for a few weeks my father and siblings had to take care of me. the other 3 have been like my son im the only one who has allergies aswell as other health issues (kidney probs etc) nothing too serious but we still think its something to do with it. and before anyone thinks im having a go im not its a personal choice i just really think it is good for baby and if you can perserver its worth it.:coffee:i find a cup of tea can solve most problems:coffee:

Good morning all!
Sorry I haven't read back all the posts, but I believe there are some new babies in the world, congratulations! Anderson, Supermaiden, Lablover and.. I believe Perdi? Sorry if I've missed anyone.
I had my last day at work on Friday (35+1). It is such a weird feeling, the whole day was completely surreal, and I think it won't sink in until tomorrow when I don't have to go in. I was going to work a couple of weeks longer, but work told me I had to take all of this year's holiday before ML, and now I'm so glad about it. My pelvic area is quite sore, and I have not been getting much sleep. See all these people saying "make sure you get lots of sleep" ? I'm getting to the point where I just want to slap them. How exactly? Between the peeing, the baby moving, the heartburn, the pelvic pain, the snoring... anyway, I know it could be lots worse, so I'm trying not to moan about it. Can you tell?
So now all I have to concentrate on is being good to me and the baby. I saw a four day old baby on Friday night, and it was the first time I saw a baby and thought "aww how sweet". I'm slowly gettting used to the idea of there being one, although every now and then I still freak a bit about the thought of there being one here in this flat. Permanently.
Thanks for the chat about BF. I want to give it a go, but I'm not going to beat myself up about it if it doesn't work. I'm a little worried what will happen if it doesn't - how long do you get to keep trying before baby has to have formula? Hours, or days?
Also I'm thinking about changing from the local hospital to the midwife-led unit in the next NHS area. It will take the same amount of time to get there. The only thing that stops me is that I don't want to lose the support of the local midwives, who have been really good so far...
Hope you're all feeling well and getting some nice cool but bright summer weather
Again, sorry about the long post, I'll try to post more often now that (theoretically) I should have more time/energy to log on.
