The thing is I have never stated a preference for a girl - yes it would have been nice but so is having another sweet boy. It's just society's prejudices - for some reason people presume you want girls not boys.

Doglover I thought 0/5 palp meant fully engaged in that there is no part of the head to be felt? I'm confused now lol!

Lirin that's awful people are so cruel :(
Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!

Me too Kandboys as well as everyone on google and my book at home! All I'm concerned about is that this little one doesn't try and make an escape too early! (remind me of this when I'm moaning about being over due!)

I'm not concerned with what sex my child is- as long as it's healthy and happy, really, I couldn't ever ask for more. Whether it's a boy or girl- there's drawbacks to both. There's also plus sides to both as well. We made a decision not to find out the sex- if we do accidentally, it's no biggie, just would be nice to have the extra surprise.....

It's surprising how many see that almost as an affront to them- 'But how will we know what clothes and gifts to buy?' Simple- exactly the same as they'd have bought had we known the sex!
  • Hope everyone is well :)

Today is my first day of mat leave - woohoo!!!! No lie in for me tho, was in Toys r us by 9.15 with a friend and her two young ones!! Wow - an eye opener!!! I'm glad to be back at home with a coffee and a vimto ice lolly!!

Nearly 38 weeks now for me, I was shocked to see how little I had to scroll the list to find my name  eek!!! I'd quite like this week to myself, but baby can come anytime after that!!

So, my mat leave plans, some batch cooking, Prison Break from the start (yummmmmmm Wentworth miller!!) ball bouncing and maybe a trip to the seaside with my mum before she goes back to work....although it's a 2.5hrs drive, so she's a little concerned that something might happen!!

I have read back, but forgotten everything!! I am incapable of committing anything to memory at the mo and I certainly can't make a decision.......even the really simple ones!!

Rightio, I'm offski to buy food and maybe have another ice lolly :)

Big vibes to those that want them!! x
:heart2: Mummy to one gorgeous little girl :heart2:

On another note I'm totally !!!!ed off with peoples comments about having my 3rd boy. I even had someone this morning asking if I was going to do a Victoria Beckham and hope number 4 is the lucky one and a girl!! I just feel that people aren't bothered by this little guy just because of what is between his legs. And he's not even born yet :(

Hi, sorry i'm a pregnancy club graduate! :o I know how you feel-max is now 10 weeks and is our 3rd boy, and althugh we didnt know he was aboy until he was born, I was fed up of people keep saying 'oh I bet you're hoping for a girl this time' and assuming that was why we went for number 3. DH repsonse was always ' actually, no we want a boy' lol that usually shut them up!!!! The most important people love him regardless of what sex he is! Just try and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and look forward to your little mans arrival!'

I'll step back in the shadows now!!!

dont worry kandboys. (easier said then done i know) we are expecting our 3rd boy and to be honest if i had been axpecting a girl it would not of bothered me at all i would of loved it no matter what but im pleased its another boy, its what im used to and if i had a girl that ended up like i was growing up id go mad lol i was such a cow. (and it is really funny to just randomly cry at people and just watch thier reactions lol) yep im mean

i get comments about wanting girls and being dissapointed, i also get comments about leaving such a gap (my youngest is 9 and its not through choice we had 2 miscarriages) i also get comments about just getting my life back because my two are getting independant now?

Lirin, its ok to listen to everyones advice i certainly did with my first (i was only 20) so no way did i know anything apart form how to mix a mean cocktail lol. so i just listened, thanked them and then done it my own way, you will know your own child, always trust your mothers instinct. always

doglover with my first i engaged at around 35/36 weeks but had him on his due date, and with my second i engaged at 37 weeks and had him on his due date. this one i hope will come early lol (not too early though )
now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j

I have the opposite problem, having 4 girls. All the way through with Squeak, anything from 'were you trying for a boy this time' (which at least isn't too sexist) too 'Oh that's a shame, you can always try again' when I said she was going to be a girl! After she was born the oldies (who don't think to ask before) would say 'Were you hoping for a boy?' I'd just say 'I was hoping for a baby and lucky me I got one' :p which is less rude than I'd have liked but hey they come from a different generation when carrying on the name was a big deal.

People are just nosy and can't resist sticking their noses in, I don't think they realise how much upset they actually cause, try to ignore them, though I know it's easier said than done.

I have told the people I need to know, ie the people I like and the people who see me often :p and I'm just waiting for everyone else to figure it out on their own, it will take them a while to realise I've not just eaten too many crisps :rotfl:
