I don't think we ever will tbh :p the next worries will come with is baby eating/sleeping/pooing enough, are they too hot/too cold etc? They must be worth it though :D

    You do stop...

if baby is hot/cold/hungry/thirsty/smelly etc they are awake and grotting usually.. if they stop complaining.. they are fine. If they complain and nothing works to fix them.. it is probably colic and you may as well put them in the crib and let them scream it out.

And no they aren't worth it at all.. they excrete all manner of disgusting things you wouldn't share with anyone else... they keep you awake when you want to sleep, they sleep when you want to go out, they get ill whenever you plan anything, they want picking up when you are busy and ignore you when you have time to play. They show you up whenever it is most embarrassing.... In fact.. I don't know why the human race hasn't died out!!! .. Other than, by the time we have tamed the first we are too tired to think straight/think it is normal and inflict another one on ourselves.

Congratulations Karen and good luck Anderson:j

Had the worst night's sleep of this pregnancy so far. Had friends round for dinner last night and they didn't leave till gone midnight. i stupidly indulged in some fancy coffee late on and I think thats what did it for me. Went to the loo at least 4 times (stopped counting eventually), the cat woke me up by standing on my head and meowing down my ear, got up at 4.15am and just stared out of the window for about 15 minutes like a deranged person then eventually went back to sleep only to be woken by a numb arm and leg all down one side. An afternoon nap is in order methinks.

    Have a good day everyone

Hi all, I am 28 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my 1st baby and I'm a bit confused over this customised antenatal growth chart I have in my notes. From everything I've heard and read, at 28 weeks fundal height should be 28cm plus or minus 2-3cm. So how come my customised chart shows the max I should measure at 28 weeks is 28cm?! According to this chart, I should have measured between 26.5cm and 28cm at my 28 week appt. I was 29cm (at 28+3). This has really upset me as I feel like I'm measuring really big, but if I hadn't taken any notice of the personalised chart I'd have been quite happy with a measurement of 29 at 28+3. The ironic thing is that I'm not even showing yet, I just look like I've put on weight!!
Has anyone else experienced this with their growth charts?

is hoping to pick some brains here, for the past few weeks, at more or less the same time each day (11am ish) i start to feel really unwell, very dizzy, sick, faint, hot flushes, i have to lay down and physically cannot get up, it's like all the life in me just drains out, it'll last about half an hour then i'm back to normal, i'm 32+1, 3rd baby and never had this before, very strange! any ideas?????
    Skint, but happy (ish):p

Caroline I really wouldn't worry about those growth charts - they are a bit hit and miss. Depends on which midwife holds the tape measure, how the baby is lying etc etc. Please don't be worried. And congrats on your first! Do you know what you are having?

Twinkle do you think it may be low blood sugar? How long before 11am have you eaten? Perhaps a mid morning snack of some fruit or a cereal bar might help x

Thanks Kandboys, I wouldn't generally be worried about the actual measurement, it was just the chart, I cant understand why they're telling me the max I should be is 1cm per week when everything I've seen says there is a 2/3cm +/- tolerance. Probably a weight thing as I was overweight to start with. We have been told we're having a girl which I'm so pleased about, we have waited such a long time to get here so we're really excited.
