  • Haven't posted much recently, but just wanted to say AAARGGHHH I can't believe I'm in the bold! I'm not sure if anything is really happening yet - the last 3-4 days though I have been getting very sharp cervical pains - sort of like when you lean/fall forward on the crossbar of a bike. They last for maybe 20s - a min or so, and rocking back and forwards really helps. I hope it's everything starting to dilate a bit? DH keeps asking if it's a contraction - I have no idea! Being a 1st time mum is so confusing!

    Morning Ladies

30+4 today. Thankfully we didnt go camping this weekend as weather was a bit hit and miss, OH had arranged a camping trip on 13th August, he actually thought i would be going too - i just laughed in his face:p so he is taking his friends instead!

Finally got a decent nights sleep last night, so have loads of energy this morn, took DD to school then went for a swim, now getting some housework done and sorting list of what we need for Peanut - i think we only need sheets for moses basket now and she is sorted :D

Enjoy the sunshine and labour vibes to the boldies xx

Morning all. So that letter I had from the doctors asking me to pick up a prescription was because I'm anaemic :(. I have been feeling tired but I put it down to pregnancy and the heat. Just don't know whether I really want to take them now.

On another note I'm totally !!!!ed off with peoples comments about having my 3rd boy. I even had someone this morning asking if I was going to do a Victoria Beckham and hope number 4 is the lucky one and a girl!! I just feel that people aren't bothered by this little guy just because of what is between his legs. And he's not even born yet :(

It's other people that seem to have a problem with it PP. One said it would be their worst nightmare having 3 boys - !!!!!!??! And another so called friend said she wouldn't bother buying him a present because he doesn't need anything being ANOTHER boy!! Not good comments when I cry at the drop of a hat these days :(

It is my worst nightmare having 3 boys as well... which is why I have 6 girls too :p.

My nanna had 3 boys and never even thought about wanting a girl.

If they know you are happy about having a boy then they may be less inclined to be so negative... you could just say actually WE are really pleased.. and I'd tell them something he needed buying :p .. if all else fails... cry!

I'm over the moon I'm having another boy, the thought of having a girl fills me with panic (what if she turned out like me !!!) and I've told that to everyone who has said "Oh what a shame, bet you'd have loved a girl"! Well of course, I'd love just about anything I gave birth to - duh! People can be so insensitive!

    Hi ladies.

Kandboys easy to say but just ignore people. There are some thoughtless people out there. I originally favoured the idea of a girl but now we're on team blue I feel horrible for even thinking about it! If (big if) we have another I'd want another boy.

Tons of labour vibes for the boldies!

    Karen congrats!

You may remember me quizzing you all about what 0/5 palp means - a health visitor told me it means not engaged at all. Does anyone agree? She then said it's be very odd to be engaged at this stage (34w5) anyway with my first but everything I've read says it isn't unusual for the first to engage around now and doesn't mean he'll come early.

K, don't let it get to you. Easier said than done, I know! One thing I've learnt about pregnancy- absolutely everyone has an opinion on your body, and you're usually wrong. :) Or maybe that's just me. I'm sick of little chats from everyone reminding me I have no experience and I should listen to them. Of course I have no experience- I've never had a child before. Thousands of women before me have managed to have children for the first time and raise them okay- I expect I'll be fine, based on that.
Similarly, I'm quite sure thousands have all boys, all girls (I'm 2 out of 5 girls, my mum reports exactly the same comments as you're getting.).... I'm quite sure you'll be fine. And do cry. You've the right to it, being pregnant, you know. Plus, it'll hopefully ensure people aren't so insensitive around you again.

My sister lost her son at 13 months. When she became pregnant again, a few said to her they hoped it wouldn't be a boy as it would ruin the memory of the first- she never let most people see just how upset comments like that made her.
