Financial Institution Is Destroying Me

Hey Simon,
With regard to getting a current account open, be totally honest and open with all the banks. Anything they ask for, be polite, helpful and prompt, and don't be annoyed of they ask for lots of ID/information etc. Just give them whatever they want. (I'm not saying you won't). I would ring them all tom am and say "I applied yesterday. Is there anything I can provide you with to speed up the application process?"
Don't apply for any more in the meantime. One will be successful, don't worry. I am a bit worried that it will be open in time for pay day. Is there any way you could borrow a bit off of a mate/family to tie you over, and then get two weeks/months pay next time. I know things will seem disorganized and chaotic at the moment, but everything will be nice and tidy in a few weeks. Just perservere.0 -
Hi
you should speak to your wages department monday morning and explain the situation as it is this close to christmas, they may be able to give you a cheque. You must tell them your other account is closed0 -

I'm going to speak to the payroll people first thing tomorrow morningmelaniec wrote:Hi

I spoke to the payroll people and they just kind of looked at me and said they would get back to me

It gets worse a friend who I owe £120 is after me and has become very nasty even after an offer to try and make a payment to him if i get my salary this month.
Another friend has called my family demanding that they repay him the £500 i owe him by tomorrow.
The same above person , arranged a few jobs for me with his company last year now he says that he wants 50% of what the company paid me because he was responsible for fitting the cheques / invoices that were paid to me.
When it rains it pours doesn't it.At least I now know how to deal with Barclays and HSBC its a different story when friends and family are involved....any suggestions?0 -
did you manage to open an account? Chase the wages dept today, they can't pay your wages into the closed account you won't get it back.
I can't advice you on the other problems apart from I don't think the guy wanting 50% of your wages is acting correctly. if you were paid directly from the co then he has nothing to do with it.0 -
I haven't heard from any Banks yet about an account hopefully something will come in the post today...I just emailed the wages department, yeah i know Barclays will just keep the money to fluff up their already padded out nest a bit more.
Thats what I don't understand about the guy who wants 50% of what I was paid cause the company paid me he wrote the cheques its strange to be honest, i thought i was doing honest work didn't know i was working for him as well.0 -

I'd ask this so called friend what they did to justify a 50% cut of your wages and if the feel that they deserve this money then that can sue you for it.
The worst Gang Masters I know don't demand that much!0 -
Herewood thats a very simple and straightforward solution youre right, i will ask him to sue me for it in a court of law.His justification is as follows:
1)He recommemned me to his company
2)I became the company's perfered workman
3)Therefore because he recommended me I should give him 50% of what I earned or if the job cost the company which he is an employee of £300 then he should get £1000 -

I'd tell his employer that he's demanding money from you for jobs that you have done for them. I assume that his employer would take a dim view of their staff demanding payment from suppliers for work given to them...0
