Couple clashing over finances

Jetta is absolutely right. We seem to get several threads a month like this on here.
Luckily i am married to a wonderful man but i had to watch my mum struggle when i was younger, she says my dad didnt give her any housekeeping money. My memories when i was a kid is of her working full time in a chicken factory and always being tired, snappy and irritable when she got home. I do NOT blame her for this. She was working hard for us.
But i think it has affected the decisions that me and my brother made later on in life. He never wants to get married (he has one child who was the result of a teenage pregnancy so not planned) but he loves her dearly and so do I.
And i decided i didnt want to have children and i sometimes wonder if somewhere deep in my subconcious it comes from watching my mother struggle. What you witness and experience as a child can shape you and affect decisions that you make as an adult.
Sorry but i think the OPs hubby is a selfish prat.
Loads of people have to do jobs they hate and dont behave like this.0 -
ok, couple of things.
Is the fact that your OH does not own half the home the reason he is so disengaged from 'the family'?
It sounds a bit like you never really decided to be together as a married couple, and it sort of just happened? Does he want to be with you?
