Did the OP pick up on posts #37 & 38? As an 'injury' occured, has the 'incident' been reported to the police?
Well, not be me because as far as I was concerned no-one was injured. Not by the other party at the time either, especially since she spoke to some police officers at the time anyway.
I would imagine whats happened is she's gone home, her husband has seen the £ signs, and shes suddenly developed a sore neck overnight and went to the doctors the next day. Whether she then subsequently informed the police I dont know.
Like I said, got insurance investigator seeing me tonight to take a statement so I'll see what info hes willing to give me.
Cant see its going to take long. Got into car, reversed slowly, misjudged and slightly dented car door, woman got out walked around uninjured. End of story!!!0 -

Sorry, your'e missing the point I think. IF the accident resulted in an injury then I think it is a legal requirement to report it to the police within 24 hours. If it was me, I would be contacting the TP indicating to them that because an injury is being claimed, if they don't report it, I will. I wonder if they will be so keen for that to happen?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

It doesn't work like that!
Just because she walked around at the time of the incident is not the conclusive proof she has no injury from this and is a fraud!0 -

The police attended the accident so presumably any requirement to report is already satisfied.

Then the police will know whether the injury was sufficent enough to be recorded, If it wasn't then what is the claim for?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

It'll be a whiplash injury that came on over the next 24/48 hours.
A doctor will provide a medical report based entirely on what he/she is told, with no objective tests at all, give a diagnosis of a 9/12 month whiplash injury, and pocket about £400-500. For that kind of easy money and no objective testing available, what doctor is going to say there's no injury?0 -
No wonder all our insurance premiums have shot up by 40% recently!PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

UPDATE
Insurance investigator didnt turn up last night. Phoned him and he said my insurance company had cancelled. Not happy cos nobody told me.
So either the other party have suddenly dropped it after my phone call or my insurance are planning to lay down and pay out.
Cant get any sense out of anyone at my insurers. They seem to be saying that its none of my business any more.0
