    Hi Rdchick

I've been following your diary, you're doing really well! I am currently a civil servant & have been for 20 years! It has been a great job, I did 17 years with Revenue & Customs and now work for the Ministry of Defence! Sadly though our terms & conditions are being eroded & I'm even being hit with a £50 per month pay cut from next month so it's not so great for now! I'm sure though that you'd be going in at a much higher level so good luck if you decide to apply!
i wish my bank account could keep up with my Rockstar Lifestle!

    Hi Rockstar

Thanks for your encouragement. I will definitely be applying for the Civil Service. I think it's perfect for me. I am the sort of person who wants to make a difference (hence wanting to be a nurse or a teacher) and I think the Civil Service can really make that happen. Sadly my current job I don't make a lot of people happy... just do what I can when I can!! Sorry to hear about your paycut and contract terms being a bit sucky now but I'm sure it will pick up again soon :)

I really hope the book arrives today, plan to sit in the park and read some of it at lunchtime... getting my eyebrows threaded again today. Think I can leave it 6 weeks before having it again but it's definitely better than waxing even though it does hurt a bit!!

Checked my online banking and it's gawd awful. However do have at least £150 coming back in expenses and also £50 coming in from the second job every week so that's something. Plus still have a fair bit of petrol in the tank too so don't have to worry about that too much. Everything has gone out like it should so it's nice to see balances come down. Credit card has been chopped up this month so I plan to just chuck everything into that now it's at 473.44 and the loan is at £3447.93 that loan is a killer - they take £96 but only something crazy like £17 touches the debt :O mental. Would love to have the credit rating to balance transfer this... one day... (got until 2018 to pay this back :'()

    Love and Hugs

Cutting up my credit card was the best thing I have done - seeing the balance come down and knowing I can't have it makes it feel like another debt and not an extra piggy bank!! I have £39 in savings which will go into the credit card once it gets to £50 and I have a little tub which I have been putting in my loose change... gonna count it and see where I am with that :D

Also lost another .1 of a kilogram - doesn't sound like much but at the end of the weekend I rocketed up to 88.0KG again and now am back down to 87.2kg wee the smallest I've been in ages - just gotta be good over the weekend - BBQ on Saturday but going for a run too :) Will I see that fateful 86KG tomorrow?! xxx

My 'sealed' pot (coffee jar which stinks of coffee - and I hate coffee thus stays sealed) is at £9.91 now... Only been doing it for about 3 weeks so that's good - don't even feel it! I just empty my silvers and coppers from my purse... which is just change from the tuck box! be great to make an extra £50 from it to chuck at my CC :)

    Hiya Chick,
Have found you and subscribed.
    How are you doing?
I've lost the plot a bit the last few weeks and have spent too much money and put weight back on so need some inspiration to get back too it. I'm sick of looking in the mirror and thinking ugh but can't be arsed to get off my butt and do something about it.
My 'sealed pot' is an old dilute juice bottle, washed out with a slot cut in the neck with a craft knife. I only save 20ps in it but they are too big to go through the bottle top so the only way to empty it is to cut up the bottle when full. You can see how your fund is progressing or can cover it in paper/paint it if you don't want to.

    Hi aria!

Thanks for joining my mumblings! Why not come join us on our Nifty Thrifty Weightloss challenge? We lose weight and save money/ pay debts at the same time! Really nice peoples on there!

I know what you feel about the mirror, I am the same. I remember being 16 and being around 11 stone, I was a healthy weight and looked great, I was about a size 12 and I want that right now! I hated my body then though, I wanted a flat tummy even when I sat down... I would give my right arm to be like that now!!

My sealed pot is kept under my desk at work. It's the place where I save money most because that's where I spend it too! If I am out and about I usually use my card... Which is bad!

I hope I don't bore you too much!

Well for once I actually lost weight over the weekend so you never know 86kg might actually exist this week - you never know.

I am absolutely skint apart from the £55+ I have in my savings right now. I need to get something for the BF next weekend for our anniversary- but what?! xxxx

  • Well done on the weight loss Hon, I'm not bothering until after this weekend, going to a large motorbike rally/party so moneysaving and dieting will be out of the window!
Why not bake a cake or just make a nice candlelight meal for your OH instead of getting into the presents conundrum?

    Hi Aria

Good plan on the weightloss front - no point setting up for a fail :D Hope you have a great time!!

The BF has bought us a night at Bovey Castle. The poshest hotel I have ever been invited to... eeek!!! for this I am going to buy him a new shirt and cufflinks I think. I nearly booked us in a crappy b&b in London - thankfully on all levels I didn't!!

Still super excited about going away this weekend. I bought R a designer shirt in TK Maxx (he'll never know) and some cute silver cufflinks with little diamonds in (he loves his cufflink shirts :)) from the jewellery shop where my folks live :) I have also made him a book of coupons with stuff like breakfast in bed and a massage and things like that, plus bought him a bracelet from amazon (as jewellery shops only seem to do big chavvy chunky things) which should hopefully arrive tomorrow!!

I am really trying not to get my hopes up for a proposal. But it would make me the happiest girl in the world.

I seriously haven't got a clue what to wear though!!!
