How to deal with 13 yo daughter ....

Oh crikey, what a pain these situations are. Firstly Keep talking. I had a frank conversation with mine about sex - When it was acceptable, with whom it was acceptable and what my experiences were. With my daughter I only let her see her one horrid boyfriend at our house, shw was not allowed out on dates with him or to his house even if his mum was suppose to be in. I just didn't trust them. In the house she was not allowed upstairs. We tried to include him on family trips. If she was going out with friends it was only ever to their houses or cinema when she was that age, so I would drop off pick up and check with parent that she was where she said she was. I'm sure she got away with seeing him a few times, but it wasn't many.
I was tough on her, I did tell her that if I found out she had slept with the horrid BF I would have him prosecuted.
She went out with him for ages, he made her miserable, it was a damage limitation exercises to start off, with us just limiting the amount of time they saw each other. Then we put out foot down and said enough was enough. She went behind our backs and saw him, so we got tougher and in the end she realised it was for the best. I do wish we'd done that earlier.
Just our experience.
She's with a lovely BF now, together nearly two yrs, we love him, his parents love her and they are nice to each other a good influence on each other. They started sleeping together after being together for 6 months (they were both 17) she came and spoke to me and her dad first to discuss contraception and out views, then went to the GP herself to get the contraception sorted out. Couldn't ask for better really.
