As for being paid for 7 days nope..you're wrong I covered almost every weekend and Public Holiday for 15 years (365 day/year business) that nobody else wanted to do...often without pay.

well more fool you. said i have done 7 days, was pre mum days and different job (manufacturing), difference was i was paid.

Chances are you won't get jury time for a fulll week (many don't) so from your link the employer could expect you to work the weekend as normal and not sure the compensaion would kick in.

Eventually he came out even after paying for parking and petrol and daily allowances for food... his company paid him but then when he got paid by the courts they did the deductions which brought him out even...

Personally I cant see what you are moaning about.

Jury duty is all about sitting down all day long in a room full of others in the same situation as you. You have to work two days at the weekend....so what ? big deal, you've been sat around all week doing next to !!!!!! all and you are moaning that you wont have time off ! sheesh !

Quite a lot of the time jurers actually get to go home early anyhow if the court gets ajourned.

When I used to work at the Crown Court jurers were nearly always gone by 3 - 3.30 they didnt start till gone 10 and had at least an hour for lunch.

I believe the Met have brought in compulsory 8 days on 2 days off shifts (which include earlies, day shifts and nights across each set of 8 days). That's tens of thousands of employees in one organisation. I'm sure they aren't alone either.
