So just been speaking to the boy about proposals and how everyone is surprised that we are not engaged yet... He was like I dunno why people say that, I don't want to rush anything and if we're to spend the rest of our lives together then there's no rush. I said I would marry him tomorrow if I could and he just said he would rather buy a house first and then save up to get married...
Looks like I will be on this thread for the next 10 years!
Could actually cry right now..
On a lighter note I am watching the fatties on biggest loser and waiting for nominos valentines deal to arrive...
Hope you're having a great night!

Aw I know exactly how you feel.
That's what oh said to me. We didn't live together and had been going out for 6 years. I didn't want to buy anything together before we were married. However, he wanted to live together first.
So I gave in, I had in my head we would live together a year only, and if no proposal was forthwith then we were over, sad as I was. he then proposed, so he did genuinely want to see if we could live together. We get married next year and I still stand firm we won't jointly own a property until we're married, so we kinda compromised :rotfl:
I guess the question is can you wait?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

Well I won't be able to get a mortgage for at least 5 years, plus there's no way I can afford a deposit right now! I wouldn't be looking to be getting married for 5 or so years but to be engaged would seal the deal.
I hope I can wait, I guess I will have to... However next year I go into the RAF (hopefully) so we shall see if we can stand the test... I will be in Birmingham studying nursing and he will be back here in Southampton... We shall see... XxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0 -
Congratulations Daisie, I think you get the award for shortest ever stay on the waiting for a proposal thread!!
Thank you to everyone for the exam congratulations and for your sympathy in regards to my rubbish V-day. Boyfriend turned up at work at 4.30pm with a card, three bunches of flowers, three scratchcards and a chunky peanut butter kit kat :rotfl:, I am still a little upset that he left it so late but I am trying to be grateful that he did make the effort in the end. Only problem is that I don't have enough vases so I have some flowers in pint glasses, very tacky! I took my mum and daughter some flowers after work too and they were both very happy.
Big hugs to all of those who are desperately waiting for a proposal...I know most of us didn't think today would be it but I know it doesn't stop you from wishing or hoping that it had happened and it hurts a bit that it wasn't your turn. xxx
Very happily married on 10th April 2013
