 yikes!!! I am sure most girls have at some point thought about the sort of place they would like to get married or the dress but to actually have dresses and other things, hmm, a bit OTT for my liking!

Ooh Squirels the trip sounds ace! It's always nice to have a break to look forward to, lets hope he is on the same wave length as you and it is on his mind :T

I wish my OH would actually go and get drunk, that used to be when he told me he was going to marry me (ok maybe that's not a good sign :o) but we have become rather reclusive these days. I can't really be bothered to go clubbing these days, just too darn expensive, gosh I am getting old :rotfl:

Still feeling like I cannot be bothered to plan a wedding at the moment but obviously I haven't told OH this, I am sure I might feel differently if he does propose but things are so stressful at work at the moment and I have so much going on in the next 6 months that I'm just seeing it as another stress I could do without. Ps - As a woman I am well within my rights to rescind, amend, reject or agree with any and all future statements on this subject!

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

I know I have basically got my hopes up for the last 18 months about every holiday and occasion but realistically I didn't have any grounds for that - it was just wishful thinking!

This time has got to be the odds on favourite though surely. He's basically told me he's going to do it soon, asked for ring ideas, told me he wouldnt do it at home and although I don't know details of exactly what was said, he's spoken with his mum about it AND he knows I was disappointed that it didn't happen last holiday...
It's basically good to go right!! :rotfl:

Ps... while messing about on the internet yesterday, I may have accidentally emailed a venue (one of my fav UK places) to ask for their prices!! Does that make me a bridezilla in waiting?
Pps... glad I did, got back to me straight away, and an absolute bargain!! :T

I'm too scared to email anyone for prices, as I'm feeling silly enough as it is, but it doesn't mean I've not searched around for people whose prices are on their website already, and saved them as bookmarks! Yay for bargains, though! :T I'm glad that I'm not the only one - I was worried that even you guys would think I was insane for collecting ideas! No dresses in the wardrobe though...that would terrify my OH, and me too if I'm honest!
  • Oooh Ive just found this thread by accident and thought I would share my story.

Both OH and myself have been married previously and when we met I was in no rush whatsoever to get married again...

until one night he casually dropped into the conversation that his son who was about 8 at the time, had asked him if we would ever get married. This turned into a discussion and I said that ultimately, as we by then owned a house together, I would like to get married someday.

From that day on tho, I was suddenly desperate for him to propose, Ive no idea why as it was never even on my mind before then.

It was a nightmare, every time we went on a special night out, I thought that this was 'THE night'. One time we were out for a meal and he asked if I wanted a desert, which I didnt but he insisted on me having my favourite, Eton Mess. Because he was so insistent I jumped to the conclusion that he must arranged to have a ring hidden so I chewed every mouthful really carefully, until he said I was being too slow and started tucking in to help me out :rotfl:

At that point my nerves had had enough, it was almost 2 years since we'd had that first discussion! So he finally took me to Liverpool and bought a ring and proposed in the place we had first met and it was lovely.

That was almost 4 years ago and we are still not married!! Part of me wishes I'd never got so stressed out over him not proposing because there have been countless times where Ive convinced myself he only proposed because he was sick of me going on about it!! I wish he had just completely surprised me but I guess he wanted to know if I was going to turn him down flat and thats why he had brought it up in the first place.

The good news is, on Monday we booked a week in May to go to Vegas to get married!!!!

The thing Ive learned over the last 6 years is sometimes its best to be patient and just enjoy the suspense from not knowing when 'it' is going to happen.

    Hi Maddie - <Waves>

Ladies OMG I have found the best venue in the world!! I must also confessed I have mailed them, no point dreaming for however many years if they are stupidly expensive :rotfl:

I want to tell OH because it is exactly the right venue to hold the wedding we want (discussed it loads in the past) and I can't! - makes me feel really sad.

Hope you are all ok xx

    Love
    Bridezilla in waiting!!! :D

Yay for you finding a hypothetical venue! I've just got a bit disheartened now as I went to check the place I'd bookmarked, and it's gone up in price by another 50% since I last looked a few weeks ago! It's prob a good job OH's showing no signs of interest lately, as that is a fair few month's more savings than I'd hoped for :(

Ha ha same here, I sooo want to tell OH about the venue that I've found but now isnt the time, as I think I've gone on about stuff enough - but I will be telling him literally 30 seconds after he asks me!!!!!!!!
