No not anyone on here. I love it when people on this board get engaged
It's just this girl once told me I should be more patient and that I expected far too much too soon - this wasn't even about wanting to be married and she has been with a guy 9 months, now living with him and I found out today that she is marrying him very soon!
So sorry for bring everyone down, really didn't mean too
No apologies needed! That's exactly what this thread was started for. Most of us have been really down hearted at times so we might have an idea of what it feels like today. My boss was the one that killed me, we are the same age and he had been with his girlfriend 9 months when he proposed, I'd already been with OH for a while then. I felt like he had jumped the (non existant) queue and I just wanted to scream it's not fair but I had to try and be mature about it in the public view but behind closed doors I was an emotional wreck, then I had to endure months of him planning his honeymoon, £25k wedding and such like...was hard.
Just write today off as one of those days, get a good nights sleep if you can and we'll all be here with a cyber hug and shoulder to cry on if needed tomorrow xx
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

Its a very depressing time of year anyway, mate. I felt very sad yesterday for no reason whatsoever! Nearly cried at work!
Can you take some time this weekend to have some fun or a lie in or something nice? :grouphug:0 -
Hey all
Thanks all for your lovely and kind support, so touched. I felt so much better this morn had lovely cuddles from kids and dog is scared of the wind so he snuggled up to me all night which was lovely. OH was very snuggly yesterday too
Put some plans of action in place this morn to basically get out more. My friends all live 200 miles away (struggled to meet many people locally) and I have arranged to meet them a couple of times a year for girly days out. I think I need to be more social (altho I am happier in my own company haha) so hopefully I will think about things less.
Anyway, hope everyone is ok. I am a little worried that squirrel hasn't been on, hope her nose is ok!0 -

Awwww poor guy. I really hope that it was staged, otherwise I think the lady is a bit rude I would have accepted in public and then let him down later in private. Awww bless him tho maybe he is better off looking for someone more appreciative0 -

MrD knows me better than this anyway.... but if anyone ever proposed to me so publicly as this I would say no just for the sheer hell of it. Pay back. :rotfl:0 -

Thanks Ally, I'm still alive!!!
Havent been back to the hospital yet but nose isnt broken (as far as Im aware) - pain gone but still all bruised and battered (although luckily avoided the black eyes) so been spending hours in the morning covering it all with make up to look presentable.
Gone back to work too - probably could have milked it for a bit longer if id wanted but couldnt face being away for any longer otherwise I'd never have wanted to go back!!!0 -

So glad that you are ok.
I know what you mean about work, I like my job but I hate working, could easily entertain and amuse myself everyday and that is without money. Unfortunately I dont think the mortgage company will accept gifts of homemade cakes, vegetables and eggs. I often think I was born in the wrong century :rotfl:0 -
I was enrolling on-line for a p/t college course last night and I had to fill in my emergency contact - I put OH's name down and then the next question was 'relationship to you'?
This frustrated me so much - OH was watching me fill in the form and I started saying how difficult it was to fill in the question! He said 'well just put boyfriend down' and that really annoyed me!! I know thats what he is but I wanted him to see how frustrated I am.
I ended up putting 'partner' which I know he doesnt really like but I dont care!
I hate calling him as my boyfriend as I always think I sound like I'm about 15 when I'm describing him and the fact that we are living together means so much more - although I didnt really want to put live-in partner down on the form!!
It would be so much easier if I was his wife!!!!! :rotfl:
At the end of the conversation, I just laughed and said 'there's a much easier way round this, sort it out...' to which he just blatantly ignored!!
Also the New York situation is off... OH didnt get the amount of overtime over Christmas which was going to pay for NYC so we're having to look at alternative holiday locations - all of the suggestions made by OH are not suitable for a quickie wedding so theres no point even brining the conversation up. In fact nowhere is that suitable for a quickie wedding except America as far as I know (if anyone knows any differnt then let me know so I can carry on dropping the hints).
It's getting hard though as I envisaged that if I was planning a holiday in 2012 it would be as part of our wedding plans.
He's asking me to look at holiday destinations this weekend and I have to feign enthusiasm knowing that if we do get married it doesnt look like it will be on a holiday this year. Gutted....0
