See I'd have the trip to the Maldives with a £5 ring! Easy peasy :D

I really want to watch the youtube vid you posted but now probably isn't a good time! Girl I work with asked if I thought OH would do it on my 30th while on Safari, told her that would have to involve some forward planning on his part so was absolutely VERY unlikely :rotfl:

I'll have to work that in my planning!!

Honestly I think our OH are very alike. My OH is hates planning anything so I might have a very long wait! same with the holiday planning this year but a whole other problem!!

After watching the video you might be glad your not with my OH because it's pretty cutting on marriage and weddings and my OH laughs like a goon too it.

    xx
  • My OH is the complete opposite!!!
My OH plans and researches everything meticulously!! Even if hes buying the simplest thing, he;ll plan and research online for about 6 months (slight exaggeration maybe but you get the gist) so for something quite major like a proposal/engagement ring he'll have to "research" it (even if just in his head) for ages!!!! Hence why I might not get one for quite a while...!!! :rotfl:

hahaha love this! I guess on the good side when (not if) it happens it will be purr-fect!

I do wonder if i drive the OH nuts with my 'planning'. Maybe it's a good job I am not a bloke as I might be like yours and my GF would be pulling her hair out like us :rotfl:

I have a planner too :rotfl: when I asked him why he was looking at rings if he has no plans to propose, his answer ' I need to plan these things' :rotfl:

I am very spontaneous, so in some ways we work together :D

So if I am thinking like that...surely he's thinking the same so I have come to the point of not worrying about it because planning a wedding is costly, a travel nightmare (for us) and we're broke!
But it doesn't have to be. I always find it sad if people put off marriage because they believe it has to be expensive, perhaps because they have only been to big weddings. Absolutely fine if you choose an expensive wedding (and I am not criticing anyone that makes that choice). But honestly you can have a small simple wedding for £1000,if friends bring food, table decs etc that is still incredibly beautiful and full of emotion and the best day of your life.

I do agree your OH might be worried about that -I was sure that was one of the things stopping my DH from proposing. I had to try and drop hints without seeming like I was dropping hints about small cheap weddings,:D.
Re the logistics - that is a hard one, but I would work on the premise you are just not going to be able to get everyone there. I wonder if looking into a live video link idea to close family far away?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
