    mushroom strog freezes well actually.

    I forgot that one :D

I do it as per the hip & thigh diet loads of sliced mush, chopped onions, skimmed milk( any would do tho) and I think its a spoon of plan flour and a teaspoon mixed herbs. And a bit of crushed garlic if youve got.

Serve with rice, pasta, on a jacket, or as I used to ( rosemary conley wouldnt agree with this!) in a massive yorkshire pudding with a slice of fried bread :rotfl:
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

fry them off in some garlic and have on toast.

stuff them,(onion, breadcrumbs, more mushrooms, pecan nuts, garlic and salt and pepper, fry off the stuffing stuff into the cavity, dust in flour batter then deep fry.)

bread them, (flour, then into beaten egg, then into the breadcrumbs that way the coating sticks to the mushroom rather than the ones you buy in the shop that are a ball of crumbs with half a gallon of boiling oil surrounding a pathetic wee shrivelled shroom)

garlic mushrooms, slice quite finely, make up a cornflour and egg white tempura , add loads of chopped garlic to the batter, then deep fry and serve with sweet chille or sweet and sour sauce.

mushroom soup, fry off onion and garlic, add some chopped mushrooms add stock and milk half of each(chicken or veg) 1 grated tattie and boil up, then blitz.

then you could always add to a stew or a pie or stroganoff or bolognaise, will give you a shout if I think of anything else.HTH.xxx

  • Grilled?

How big are they? Big mushrooms are lush stuffed with garlic butter and baked for a bit...

Bacon and mushroom sandwiches for lunch?
Heavy on the mushrooms in a spag bol or chilli?
In a veggie curry / chilli?
    Stirfry?
    Spanish omelette?

    Happy cooking!!!

    Mushrooms? They're magic.
Try this. get a pyrex dish, slice the mushrooms, and grate or slice brie on top. find some old crusty breadm, and some parmesan. Breadcrumb the bread, and mix with the grated parmesan. Layer this on top, and bake for about half an hour.
This is a real yellow label, 'what do we have in the fridge ' job, but it tasted great

Chop/slice then bag up in portions and put them in the freezer. That way they'll be ready to be added to stews, spag bol, etc. when you next cook.
