In Turkey they make mushrooms in cheese, it is mushrooms in a shallow dish covered in a white sauce with garlic and covered in cheese. I adore them, yum yum, i wish I had some mushrooms, rarely buy them as my DD (13) hates the taste, smell an look of them... LOL.

My girl will love that, thank you x

My 12 year old has decided all she wants to eat is mushrooms and I just cant think of what to put with them, doesnt help that I dont eat them I suppose, shes had bacon sausage etc, shes had a mushroom sandwich and as its shopping day tomorrow I dont have a lot in, she wont eat eggs, toast??, any pulses or beans, including baked beans, no rice (just today she normally will!! Kids!!).

If anyone can help I will be very grateful, Thanks in advance x

I can see where your DD is coming from - I adore mushrooms and would happily eat them every day too.

    Some of my favourites:
    • mushrooms and bacon with pesto sauce, stirred into pasta
    • mushroom burger - a big field / portobello-type mushroom, grilled and topped with cheese (I like goat's cheese best) served in a bun
    • mushroom curry has already been mentioned (served with naan bread as you said your DD doesn't like rice), but they're nice in a Thai curry sauce as well
    • as kebabs, with other veg or with chunks of meat or halloumi cheese - cooked on the BBQ if you have room and/or if the weather co-operates
    • in a white sauce with bacon, served with pasta (we called this 'bacon supreme' when I was a kid and it's still one of my favourite comfort foods)
    • steak and mushroom stew / pie
    • in a creamy sauce on toast

I think I'll be adding gibson123's idea to my list now, too - that sounds fantastic.
Back after a very long break!
