Lots of Mushrooms. What to do with them?
Comments
-
Make them in gravy and serve with mash?
Make them into a curry or into a pate?
Eat them raw in a salad?
Stuffed?
Roasted?
As a burger?
Tell her she is big enough to make her own meals and leave her to it?
All of those suggested ideas(how about a stir fry)and remember you can buy them fresh or tinned(in case you have diffciulty using them up too)they are available whole, sliced or creamed.

Tossed in butter and breadcrumbs? Serve with a salad or whatever greens she will eat.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Thank you for your help, she said no to all of them, she's being fussy.
She may be 12 but I don't feel the need for her to cook her own dinners, I'm her Mom and she can cook so thats good but as I'm home I'm more than happy to do it for her.
I think Indypops suggestion to get your daughter to cook for herself was 'cos she'd soon realise that ....... 'man cannot live by mushrooms alone'.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I am the only one who would take the harsh option?Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0

I don't have kids of my own so I'm not great at harsh - I don't think it would be harsh to say "off you go and sort it out then" but I think OP enjoys cooking for her DD.
At this point though I imagine I'd just serve up some stir fried mushrooms and leave it at that.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Hi I'm wondering if anyone can help me, I have searched but I need something quite specific and my daughter is apparently starving to near death (she's not at all, she's very healthy just a dramatist!!)
My 12 year old has decided all she wants to eat is mushrooms and I just cant think of what to put with them, doesnt help that I dont eat them I suppose, shes had bacon sausage etc, shes had a mushroom sandwich and as its shopping day tomorrow I dont have a lot in, she wont eat eggs, toast??, any pulses or beans, including baked beans, no rice (just today she normally will!! Kids!!).
If anyone can help I will be very grateful, Thanks in advance x
if she's hungry she'll eat whats put in front of her.
there was a mushroom risotto on jamie olivers 30 minute meals earlier.0 -
hi
Have you tried them with pasta. you can add bacon/sausage and a cheese sauce (or just some cream cheese) and whatever veg she will eat.
My mom used to poach them in milk and serve with bread to dip in the milk
What about garlic mushrooms
or savoury rice and mushrooms or mushroom fried rice

Sorry has she had bacon and sausage or not? And she ate bread (the sandwich)
If all she wants is mushrooms I would cook her a proper meal every mealtime anyway, include mushrooms if you want to indulge her little fad.
Who is the adult in your house? Seems she has you on a string.
Sorry if this seems harsh but you must see she's pushing the boundaries here. Do you really want her to dictate what she will eat all through her teenage years?0
