Hi,
I was wondering if anyone out there had issues claiming their cash back from Quidco when related to Broadband purchases.

While browsing for a new Broadband provider I discovered the Quidco cash back site; I had not used a cash site before, as I'm normally too busy to track such things. However, on this occasion by signing with plus.net, Quidco were offering £38 cash back (minus the £5 first deal reduction).

The broadband sign up with Plus.net was straight forward and after a few weeks they had made the payment to Quidco.
However, for the next two months my Quidco account showed the payment as 'confirmed' but no payment was made into my current account. When I chased this up with Quidco, I received this reply:

My name is Dominic and I am part of the Quidco Compliance Team and my job is to review member’s accounts to make sure that they are complying with the terms set in the Quidco Account Holder Agreement.
The following purchase has been highlighted to us and we require evidence of this.
2011-09-09 12:42:19 Plus.net
To help us verify this purchase could you please supply me with the following:

- Name and postal address registered to this purchase.
- Bank statements to show payment of the purchase (Please block out none relevant information such as Sort Code, Bank Account Number)
- Order confirmation documents for the purchase

Could you please send the information to members@quidco.com for the attention of Dominic and include the reference ***** in the subject line of your email.
Kind regards,
Dominic
Quidco Compliance Team

Now in order for me get this information together, scanned and emailed to them is a considerable effort as I do not have a scanner or printer at home.

I have sent Quidco an email expressing my displeasure at the current events. I have also contacted Plus.net to inform them of Quidco' conduct.

My main bug bear is that if Quidco felt there was a discrepancy with the account why did they accept the payment from Plus.net. Secondly, I feel the onus is on Quidco to contact Plus.net to verify the transaction is valid, since they have received monies from Plus.net which they are now withholding.

My account and application process is legitimate and I feel Quidco have no grounds for requesting this information. If they feel the transaction is fraudulent then they should return the money to Plus.net.

I shall update when I receive a reply from Quidco.

Good afternoon,

@insur – I do understand your concern, and I am very sorry for any inconvenience this is causing. The retailers will be aware of the steps that we take to ensure that the cashback they are paying is being paid out to genuine transactions, it is a precaution that is taken with many different retailers.

Please do understand that we are in no way saying that your purchase is not genuine at this point, these procedures are just put in place to protect retailers at high risk of abuse and fraud.

We would also never withhold cashback for a valid transaction, and we aren’t authorised to decline cashback ourselves. If approved by the Compliance Team, we will be happy to then pass on your cashback to you.

@Maverick_TF - The Christmas period won't cause payments to be delayed, don't worry! We're working extra hard at the moment to chase up all delayed payments in time for Christmas, however if you would like any of your transactions looking into specifically, please contact the Quidcare Team and they will be happy to help.

Many thanks,

Rosie

Good afternoon,

I hope you've all had a great weekend.

@techspec - I'm very sorry to hear that your transaction is still outstanding. Can I ask you to raise this as a complaint so we can take a closer look into it for you? (http://www.quidco.com/complaints). I wouldn't recommend cancelling just yet, as they could still decline the cashback. However I'll have a look at the status of the transaction for you and then I'll certainly be able to advise you further.

Kind regards,

Rosie

Thanks you very much. I am shocked to say you put this right immediately after i contacted you - the first time in years i have been happy with Quidco customer service.

The money will now be paid in this weeks payment run - a nice christmas bonus. :T

Thanks again - your a star!

Doesn't offer much hope of being paid by Christmas, does it?? Especially considering these are all supposedly non-declined and awaiting payout, one at 6 months 2 at 9 months.

Good morning,

@P2TKL - We are unfortunately experiencing an error at the moment where you aren't receiving a notification email when the claim has been sent off. However, if you received the notification of the claim being put on hold then don't worry, as your claim will have been sent off. We are hoping the email issue will be fixed shortly.

@rizla01 - That's great to hear!

Kind regards,
