Thanks Jules, but it seems pointless e-mailing you again as the response will no doubt be the same as it was in October, September, August, July...............

Hi I received this message from you but would like to know just how much money I have lost out on and from which retailers. Can you help please ?
Dominic wrote 18 Oct 11 at 14:16Hi,
Unfortunately, we have had a system error, which has resulted in me writing to you over the last couple of days about one or more declined transactions on your Quidco account.
If you have been unable to raise a claim, I regret it is too late for us to take action for you now. The reason for this is that we are unable to ask a retailer to process a claim if more than 45 days have passed since the transaction was declined, and you should never have had the ticket advising to you do this.
I do apologise sincerely for the upset and inconvenience that this may have caused, and please be assured that steps have been taken to ensure that an error of this nature doesnt occur again.
Kind regards,
Dominic Butterell

I think it ultimately makes the whole idea of cashback sites a bit of a false economy really. I've seen a few deals offered on MSE that say something like "For X amount up front and Y amount from <cashback sitename> it works out at Z amount per month over the length of the contract".
Most people don't work like that - for that type of deal you'd pay X amount up front, pay the FULL amount per month of whatever it might be and whatever is then paid out from the <cashback sitename> becomes little more than the equivalent of winning a few quid on a scratchcard.0 -
Hi Jules, I was hoping you could help me. You were very helpful last year with the same issue of insurance cashback so I'm hoping you can chase this up again for me.
I've been waiting over a year for my LV Home insurance cashback (£20) which I bought via Quidco on the 17/10/10.
I've contacted Quidcare support, where I haven't recieved much information, just that they have not recieved an update from LV.
Could you help me with this please, as I have been waiting over a year? If it is possible, could I have my payment without the £5 quidco fee payable (if it is due), as this is the only payment I am waiting for and this is over a year old. I don't want to be billed twice.
Thank you Jules.0 -
Hi,
@P2TKL – It’s unlikely that you’ve missed out on any cashback to be honest. I’m sorry for the confusion that this issue caused. We have started a new process of writing to customers if a transaction updates to “declined” status in response to feedback we’ve had regarding the fact that it’s possible to miss declined transactions in your Quidco activity. The message advises you to raise a declined cashback claim so that we can challenge the decision with the retailer.
Unfortunately, when this went live a couple of weeks ago, we had a problem whereby all customers with cashback declined over the last year were written to rather than customers with cashback declined on that day.
As long as you’ve been prompt in raising claims if you’ve had cashback declined over the last year you have nothing to worry about. Claims have to be raised within 7 weeks of the cashback being declined. The message that went out doesn’t affect previous claims raised or cashback earned. I hope this has helped.
@osian – if you write to me at juliewells@quidco.com I’ll happily take a look at this for you. LV does take quite a while to pay cashback but I need be see your account in order to advise you properly.

@Heyman – it is normal for cashback for insurance purchases to take 6 months and the statistics on our site are based on payments received over the last year. If Swiftcover start to take longer, the statistics will update automatically. We will already be on the chase chasing your payment for you but I do of course understand your concern.
Kind regards,
Jules
Well I take it all back Jules, Swiftcover Home Insurance is now showing as received in my account and due for payment in the next payment run!! :T
So within the stats at the 178 day mark, and £30ish that I really need at the moment!
Thanks very much!!!!0 -
Good afternoon,
@Heyman - that's great! Thanks for taking the time to tell us about this as we really appreciate such feedback. The fact is that the vast majority of cashback is paid within the normal processing times for retailers, and unfortunately, and naturally, we generally only hear about delayed payments on forums.
I hope you all have a great weekend. Rosie is back next week but it's been good to speak to you all.

Trying to take advantage of the great Aviva deal, but their software is getting things wrong, and they blame Qco!
When inputting my cat reg (2 of them in fact), they both show up as the right make, but a different model, and vans! As I bought them new, I know it is not a DVLA issue, and also all other Insurance sites come up with the correct models.
Now this means I cannot complete the purchases online, so lose the £80. Phoned them, and they had the cheek to say it was Quidcos fault that they would not bend the rules.....not their fault that their softeware isn't right.
Also, were not at all bothered they would lose my business....2 cars.
Anyone else had this issue, and Quidco, any comments? I think if this is their attitude they should br struck off.O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.
