This advice was posted on the 16th Jan. Three emails sent - no reply. How about a postal address and the name of the boss - he/she might be interested in unhappy users? Then everyone else might be able to get some answers/excuses.

If you look on Quidco you will find a postal address:

A month ago I went via a Quidco link for £75 cashback off a Direct Line home insurance policy. I took out the policy and received confirmation from Quidco that the claim has been tracked. Excellent I thought...

I have now just received a notification from Quidco to say that the cashback has been declined! No explanation has been given and when I try to raise a claim via Quidco I get a message saying that 'we are unable to investigate transactions for this merchant'. I've satisfied all the conditions (cookies etc.) and the policy has definitely gone through - I've paid for it!!

Very frustrating and pretty poor service. Why do Quidco deal with companies that they are unable to get feedback from when things go wrong? It seems like Direct Line just use the cashback offer to lure people into buying a policy.

Seems like a con to me!!

    Hi @happyhaggis,

I am sorry to hear that your cashback has been declined.

Please do contact Customer Support regarding this issue and they will be able to look into this further for you.

Overall I have been really happy with using Quidco - as you will see from my signature i've had a good amount of money back. However, I'm pretty annoyed at the moment with an email i've just received.

To give some background - I purchased a Christmas present for my OH from a website i'd not used before. It was an item that was available through a few retailers but I chose to buy from the place I did as it had the highest percentage of cashback compared to others.

I clicked through the link and placed my order as normal. The ordering process went great, I received the item and everything on that end was good. However my cashback never tracked and so I opened a claim. I waited 2 months whilst it was investigated and got a response to my support ticket yesterday to inform me that my cashback claim had been denied. The retailer was not satisfied that I was referred to them through Quidco and wouldn't pay up.

That's fine - you win some, you lose some. It was only £3. However my annoyance was that I took the time yesterday afternoon to write a review on the retailers page. I didn't rant, I just clearly stated the facts - that the ordering process was great but the cashback did not track and my claim was subsequently denied. As such I chose the "poor" option for tracking speed & time taken to pay ("good" for everything else). I feel this was fair.

Once the review was submitted there was a message to say it would be moderated before being posted. I have just logged into my email to find this from Quidco:
Your retailer review cannot be published‏

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We're very sorry to hear that you've had a problem, and we'd very much like to speak to you to see if there's something we can help with before publishing the review on the retailer's site. A support ticket has now been raised in your account. If you would like us to look into this further for you, could you please reply to the support ticket in your account, including the retailer name and date of purchase, and we'll be happy to investigate further. Please do not reply to this email as customer queries are not monitored. Thanks

So what exactly is the point of being given the option to write an informative review of a company that might help others if it won't even be published? Or is it that only glowing feedback is allowed as not to scare people off? and in terms of investigating it further - what is there to further investigate? The retailer will not pay up, another support ticket will not change that. It's just a way round not having to publish my review.

Seems pretty ridiculous to me.

It it just me who think the opinions surveys are broken, my profile is 100% in all sections, I get an invite and then get told I am not eligible after a good few questions (usually all info already cover in my profile).

This keeps happening it isn't a one off.

Yes happens to me but mostly directs me to another survey. Do you not get another suitable one offered?

I then get redirected and rejected, can happen a few times before I get a final screen saying you don't meet the criteria.

  • Hi

I was really disappointed to get an email from Quidco to say my review was no longer relevant because the retailer "had since improved its service" and it would therefore being archived.

Do retailers pay for this service. I presume no good reviews are archived?

My negative experience with this retailer is a matter of historical fact and should remain ... It is not ethical to take negative reviews off the site. If you wish to give the retailer a right to reply fair enough but to delete them is not on.

As a matter of principal I will be moving my cash back to another provider
