We're delighted to tell you that your Sky Digital TV and Broadband cashback claim has been approved and now we're just waiting for them to confirm your cashback.
Once your cashback is confirmed and received by Quidco, we'll update your claim to "confirmed" status in your Activity Page.

We have now had a response from the retailer and I’m afraid that they have declined your claim on this occasion as the commission for the referral has been paid elsewhere

How has the referral been paid elsewhere?, this is just an excuse not to pay out.

That's identical to what i've just had earlier this afternoon.

Be interesting to see if anyone else has the same problem because it could certainly suggest a technical screw up from Quidco's end - which is more than likely.

Don't hold your breath. I've just been informed by Quidco support that my cashback claim from Sky has been denied due to apparently the claim being paid to "another referrer" due to a mysterious cookie being present on my machine at the time of purchase.

I'm absolutely livid because it was for a total of £75 quid and considering my history with Quidco, It's not like I was going to half-!!!! it and just make the purchase without making sure my cookies and cache were cleared.

I even made sure to save all the various reference and account numbers in a text file in anticipation of the bloody support ticket I was expecting to raise !!

so when you are back on rosie, i'd like to know if both claims have been declined or just one please. either way, it's a crap decision and the wrong decision.

I received the same thing today!!! Livid.

I placed my order back in February and was expecting £100 cashback. I'd been in contact with Quidco Support every month, then having not heard since May I chased it up earlier this month. I've now received the same response!

I don't use any other cashback schemes, I don't have a problem with my computer or cookies, I don't believe their reason.

    What's going on?

    This was the latest response:
    Hi Peter,

I'm sorry that this process is taking longer than we would usually like.

The good news is that your claim has been approved and we are just waiting for the cashback.

Whilst we do give an indication on the retailer's page of the length of time we expect a payment to take, I'm afraid that cashback payment periods cannot be guaranteed due to the number of parties and hand-offs involved in the process. We will always do our best, though, to obtain your payment for you as quickly as possible.

I am going to escalate this for you and our payments team will investigate to establish exactly where in the process the delay with payment is occurring. This can take a while and I'd be grateful if you could allow us around 8 weeks to try to get this paid for you. I do appreciate that this wait is frustrating but please be assured that if we have not had the payment by then, we will come back to you with an update.

    Kind regards,

    Cathryn

We know how disappointing this is and we don’t like it either, but in the circumstances we are unfortunately unable to take this any further for you.

Cashback is actually the commission Quidco receives for referring an on-line sale to a retailer and we pass this on to you, the customer.

When this commission is paid elsewhere we are unable to obtain any further details as the retailer is not obliged to give us the name of the referrer. To help you with future purchases, I’ve provided a list of factors which can cause cashback to be declined for this reason at the bottom of this message.

Once again I’m sorry that there is nothing further we can to do help on this occasion.

    What a joke

That's now three people all with the same message regarding cashback apparently being paid "elsewhere".

I think it's over to Rosie now because this really doesn't seem right at all.

Aveda, Holiday Inn and Discount Supplements are cluttering my Quidco account with outstanding payments.

Please don't count on getting payments from them! Some date back to Dec 11 and a claim raise in August 2010 still hasn't been sorted.
Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!

firefly, i'd keep at it - keep raising claims and support tickets. my tombola one took 13 months to resolve and 3 support tickets, but it was paid in the end.

Unfortunately, cookies rarely lie. Maybe you clicked thru to Sky from a banner ad somewhere a few days earlier? Either that, or Sky are deliberately lying.

I placed 2 separate orders on the Apple Education Store. Apple advise that the purchase will only track once dispatched but I have received my order and it is still not showing as tracked. Now I'm also worried that the more expensive order hasn't tracked as it was for over £900. I've tried to raise a cashback claim but am unable to because it hasn't tracked.

I'd really like some help with this. I followed apple's instructions and have rarely had problems in the past with tracking. And since I was spending so much money I made sure to clear cookies and cache etc.

considering my history with quidco, and the fact that i've had to raise a support ticket for every retailer i've used, bar netflix, i made a specific point of taking my time to make sure i'd covered every possibility.

i fully cleared my cookies, cache and browsing history and even rebooted before i clicked through the quidco link to take the offer. as i said a few posts back, i even deliberately saved the reference numbers in a text file for easy access because i was expecting to have to raise a support ticket and I didn't want to waste time having to ring around to find them again.

i have adblock plus installed and running in firefox so I don't get banner ads anyway, and i wouldn't click them even if i did.

i am absolutely, 100% satisfied that i made every effort to follow quidco's recommendations for making sure the purchase tracked so consequently I am satisfied that the problem is not at my end. the fact that two other people have received similar denials at the same time certainly suggests this is a technical issue rather than one of simply just forgetting to clear something.

i'll even go so far as to supply every cookie i have on my machine for Sky and Quidco for verification.

I would be really interested to know how many Sky claims are refused like this. I know it is a different 'supplier' but exactly the same thing happened to me with Sky and Topcashback. I was super careful to make sure I did everything right and the cashback was refused. Sky are a horrible company and I genuinely believe there is something dodgy going on.
