EDF Online S@ver 7

Just spoken to EDF's "customer service department" about the notified increase today in their electricity prices from 7.19p kWh to 9.27 kWh excluding VAT.
I asked if it was a mistake because it represents a 28.92% increase in prices since November 2010. Unfortunately they seem to be in denial about this percentage and informed me that my figures are not correct because their marketing department had advised them, only yesterday, that "overall nationally their prices are only going up by 15%".
I'm not that brilliant at maths but my calculator says that a 2.08p increase on an existing 7.19p rate is 28.92%. This is all in addition to their 19.02% increase in gas prices.
I only switched to EDF in November 2010 because of their comparitively reasonable prices then.
I think I may be switching again shortly, hopefully to a reasonable fixed rate tariff, despite their penalty fees.0 -
Look at EDF Fixed Saver v2 before it's pulledNo free lunch, and no free laptop

as i keep saying - EDF raised prices on march 1st - on all tarrifs except OS7 - this was 40% less than there standard rate for the 2 1/2 months since then.
40% cheaper than standard is un sustainable so it had to increase , thankfully it is in ths ummer , and i got to pay my winter fuel costs at a lower rate than everyone else.0 -
Quick question for you guys, i've been with EDF since Novemeber last year and am still unable to sign up for an online account as "they are currently improving their service and will right to me when i can register"
Im on Online v7 and would like to see my usage pattern, to see whats best for me but am obviously unable too, to me part of an Online deal would include web services to manage my account.
Has anyone with any knowledge challenged EDF over this? as im pretty disapointed with the service since November firstly being put on the wrong tarrif then having to have it corrected, and yet 7 months on still no ability for an online account, i would like to swap supplier but dont want to fork out the £60 duel fuel termination fee for a sub par service tbh.0 -
same i`ve not had access to online account - but i get paper statements inc my anual useage , tells me everythin i want to know - or call them offpeak and get through quickly and find out.0
-
I dont even get paper statements......Looks like i shall enjoy listening to their on hold music for 30/40 mins then.0

You can switch from online billing to paper billing in a trice, just by logging into your online account...oh dear...No free lunch, and no free laptop

I feel dirty because I've fallen for the hype for the first time and transferred from Saver 7 to Fix 2014 today. No exit fees or repaying the £100 welcome bonus confirmed by a very helpful manager (got his name, of course). The reason I went for this is it covers the next 3 winters. Still not convinced I've done the right thing, though.0

I phoned edf up today because I can't register either even though every time I phone up they tell me that all accounts will be transferred over very soon, its been 7 months . Not sure if I should go onto a fixed tariff or just stay on OS7.0 -

We shall see.
Following discussions today.;)
I have it on very good authority that cancellation charges will be waived,in the short term, following this OS7 price increase.
Hope this helps.:)0
