Slightly confused by the EDF rises-they announced an increase in Feb which was implemented on 2/3. When was this further rise announced. and on what date does it come into force please?

northcoombes: if you log into your online account, go to Account Details and click on 'Change Product', then it will show you the available tariffs. Fixed Saver V2 and Fixed Saver 2014 should be among them.

The last lot of price increases in March didn't include the online v 7, so I guess that is why we are now seeing a price increase. I've just filed the letter away so can't be 100% certain, but fairly sure it said that these increases come into effect from 14th July. On the plus side they are now governed by the new rules of having to give the 30 days notice so at least we are for-warned, never could understand how they were allowed to increase prices and not notify you until well after the event! No other industry would get away with it.
  • We switched to e-on NO STANDING CHARGES.

The annoying thing is having been on a fixed tarrif for the last year, our price is staying the same but no online discounts. So e-on estimate increase of £192 a year.

I think we were online 7 but comparison website had higher prices than we were paying so I did my own comparison and decided to stay put.
We fixed again for another year so are avoiding current increase. (thank goodness!)

Waiting for EDF to answer the phone thats been 10 minutes now.... Switching to Fixed V2 from OS7. ?I will let you lot know how I get on I'm hoping to avoid the £60 charge so the difference is only £35 a year to lock my prices away.

Just been on live chat to check whether cancellation charges would apply if I changed from onlineV7 electric to fixedsaverV2.

Got reply (and screen dumped for evidence!) no cancellation charges for switching between tariffs.

Went to my online account and switched easily.

Was that a concession that you negotiated on chat, or does it apply regardless?

    The OS7 T&C

    7. You agree to remain on the EDF Energy OSv7 tariff for each
account until the OSv7 tariff comes to an end, which, unless we write
to you to advise of any extension, shall be 31 December 2011 (the
“End Date”). If you change supplier before this date, You
acknowledge and agree that We may apply an Early Termination Fee
to Your energy account(s) which will be £30 for electricity accounts
and £30 for gas accounts (a total of £60 for customers with both gas
and electricity accounts). Such fee will become a debt on Your energy
account(s) and will be recovered through Our normal billing processes.

look at the bold part - change supplier , nothing about changing tarrif within the same supplier.

Curious: these are the T&C's on the rate card from last year (my bold). They've changed the wording, if yours is newer.
As I said earlier, EDF make it up as they go along.

    A. A £30.00 Early Termination Fee will be applied to your electricity account should you change your electricity tariff before 31 December 2011 as defined in the full Online S@ver Version 7 rules.
    B. A £30.00 Early Termination Fee will be applied to your gas account should you change your gas tariff before 31 December 2011 as defined in the full Online S@ver Version 7 rules.
