I've just chatted online and there will be no charge for a tariff switch (as opposed to supplier).

Now i'm looking at whether to fix to 2012 on fsv2 or pay the extra and fix to 2014.

phoned EDF and for the OS7 SOUTH EAST region the price increase on july 14th will be

elec: standing charge daily is 24.74p and per unit 10.61

Gas will be : 21.98 standing charge and 3.298 per unit

    all prices inc vat

and just changed to Fixed 2014 , NO cancellation charge for changing tarrif - although , the new T&C for Fixed 2014 says charges if i swap tarrif OR supplier before april 2013.

fixed 2014 gas is 0.3p per unit difference to OS7 , elec is 1.4p per unit more , but im council and were getting solar panels this year :D

I can't find anywhere on the EDFwebsite reference to the new prices for OS7. (Shoddy as usual)

The Comparison Sites seem to holding new increased rates.

I haven't received any notification the price change as yet. How have others been notified? Post?

I am likely to switch but will do the comparison. I won't be paying their cancellation charges and will be challenging them all the way if they want a fight. :D

I just found a message in my online account 'messages' dated 6/6. However they failed to send an email saying I had a message waiting, which is the way it's always been done before.

We switched to e-on NO STANDING CHARGES.

The annoying thing is having been on a fixed tarrif for the last year, our price is staying the same but no online discounts. So e-on estimate increase of £192 a year.

I think we were online 7 but comparison website had higher prices than we were paying so I did my own comparison and decided to stay put.
We fixed again for another year so are avoiding current increase. (thank goodness!)

Of course there are standing charges it is built into the first tier prices.:)

£110 on Gas and £140 on electric EON Dual Fuel Online for example.

Sometimes the option appears sometimes not. Seems to depend on how busy the site is. Seems a bit manic today!!

Was that a concession that you negotiated on chat, or does it apply regardless?

Not a concession, just asked the question will I have to pay a cancellation charge if I switched from my current tariff to fixedsaverv2

    The OS7 T&C

look at the bold part - change supplier , nothing about changing tarrif within the same supplier.

I guess the terms - we may charge - are applicable.

Here is the verbatim from the chat (can't seem to be able to post my screen shot)

thats what `kelly` from EDF told me, no charges for changing tarrif - hence why im now locked with Fixed 2014 , the price changes as well are not ahppening till july 14th - the letters have only just been sent out (havent got mine yet - read about it on here)

My new EDF online s@ver tariffs inc. vat (Southern Scotland) are:
    Gas - 3.298p + 21.95p/day
    Elec - 10.71p + 24.75p/day

    fixed s@ver v2 tariffs are:
    Gas - 3.521p + 20.71p/day
    Elec - 10.510p + 26.70p/day

So the fixed tariffs are, compared to the increased tariffs for online s@ver v7
a bit more expensive for kw/h for gas (daily charge is slightly cheaper)
a bit less expensive for kw/h for elec (daily charge is slightly more expensive)

Any comments as to the potential benefits of changing to fixed rate?

    Thanks
