Fabulous i can only assume that we now have a bird trapped in our chimney behind our gas fire. It is all sealed in so really not sure how it will get out if that's at all possible. Thought the new neighbours were having chimney swept and may be making noises in ours but no they are not and said its probably a bird. It is flapping wings as i can hear it and soot is coming out of our fire but there is no way i can get it out. We never use the fire. Have put a bin bag over the opening to keep the soot in place and can see the wind coming in. Just a little panicy i might end up with either a rotting bird in lounge or bird flying around in the house

Well fllapping has stopped so can only assume the inevitable has happened. Hoping OH can work out how to get fire out before it starts to smell. Apparently it should be doable without touching the gas pipes according to his builder friends. If only they had said that before the flapping had stopped.

House is a tip and i really want to get sorted but i need a skip lol Bedroom is still being painted although to be fair he did do another coat yesterday. Its just the bits he did with the brush rather than the roller that are still not covered. Think he should get that done today and also the curtain pole up too and hopefully after nursery trip tomorrow i can start sorting it.

So far today we have done the kitchen and food shopping. Changed some appointments around to accomodate niece. Filled petrol with car so that the money gone for the week - oh and DS this morning told me about his school shoes and how they have a hole in them - a hole right through to his toe. Told him he would have to wear his trainers. 'But mummy they are too small'. Where he thought i was going to find a pair of shoes 5 min before we leave for school i have no idea so i guess were off to get shoes at some point soon and he will have to wear them for now - at least they are waterproof unlike his school shoes lol

Right now to get going on the lounge - at the mo you cant see the seats to sit down on

Well just got home from WI meeting and secretary wants to meet with me before the kids break up to discuss the accounts for the year end. So wed afternoon it is. Was hoping to be getting house ready for end of term party but i guess i will have to do that after they have gone which will be rushed but as long as i get things all ready i should be able to do a last min. Tomorrow is last day without any children so need to make a list of all of the things still needing to be sorted. Obviously now have to clean really well as they are coming over and really would like grass cut to make garden a little presentful.

Big news was that OH didn't get time to finish bedroom and said i was allowed to finish it. This is a big deal in our house as he considers it a mans job so i am not allowed to do it. It is now all done other than hanging the pictures which i don't dare attempt but bed is in place and we slept in it last night for the first time in over 2 weeks. Now if he would only let me cut the grass but that might be pushing it a bit!

Right off to plan tomorrow and try to cram in as much as possible as wed is now fully booked - wish me luck!

Well we have made it to the last day of term - teachers gifts delivered yesterday so kids just need to have fun at school - pretty sure not a lot of work if any will be done. I on the other hand need to get house clean and party sorted as well as meeting friend at the local car boot, swimming lessons with DD, WI meeting to discuss account - why it couldnt wait until sept as not due til at least end of sept once kids back at school - lets just say i will sleep well tonight.

Got cake sorted for party and just made a party banner for it. Need to make marshmallows topped with choc and a smartie. Made jelly pinwheel type things, will defrost the cocktail sausages. These are just some snacks for when kids get home rather than their main meal - just in case people think i feed them junk food lol...although it is hotdogs and chips for dinner so maybe not great healthy diet today lol. Will hang balloons in a spare min and need to decorate easel to put outside to say 'Its summer!' and i think that will do.

OH tried our new lawnmower (well new to us- inherrited it from elderly relative who died last year. Its older than me. He cut about a meter worth of grass then it conked out. Think it needs some more attention. So grass is still long and looking unkept. My only issue is the frogs that i know are in it. OH moved 4 yesterday and i expect there are more and i am so scared of them - irrational i know. had nightmares of them as i had seen them last night - cant even hang washing on line as they will be there. Was kind of hoping next door would feel sorry for us when it kept stopping and starting as OH and him were joking about it, and let us borrow his but no such luck. Oh well i guess will wait for OH to mend it.

Right better go get sorted - friend is doing the school run for me but this wont get cleaning done. Have a great sunny day everyone x

Well i made it although quite a bit is hidden in DS's room and the door is shut. Will deal with this in the morning as already too tired. Kids got home and were so excited at the party. Loved the food but knew they would. Sun is out and music is on. Kids are playing in the garden and trying to do hula hoop - only DD is succeding - i am sitting on sofa watching and wanting to have a nap

Another busy day here. We started off with signing up for the library challenge, a few games outside amusing themselves. After lunch and a few more games outside we took DS to his swimming party. Apparently he went down slide about 30 times in the hour so no wonder he was exhausted at the end. While he was there i took DD to get her ears pierced. She thought i had cancelled the appointment due to her very bad behavior recently. She thought we were asking questions for when it does happen. She watched me fill in the consent form and try to pay, but still didnt twig that she was getting them done today. Her face was a picture. A mixture of delight and petrified all in one go. They did both ears together so no need to walk away with only one ear done. Well after that we wondered around the town for a while and only bought a few bits that i could remember were on my list as i left it at home along with my phone - second day in a row!
Tomorrow should be almost a NSD but need nappies - only very cheap ones. Off to park for picnic and will bring picnic and drinks so very low spend day.
Got carrot cake in the oven ready for the WI fete on saturday - hope it tastes ok as i cant cut it open and have a taste.

Well i am tired after a busy busy weekend. Friday we met our friend at the park. She is one of the ladies that runs the church playgroup but more of a friend that an organiser as i have been going there 8 1/2 years now. She was up and chasing the kids while i looked after my niece and then she bought us all an icecream which was very kind of her. She said we should do again this fri so will probably do but i will provide ice creams i reckon. Remembered nappies on the way home so all good.

Sat was the summer fete and the sun shone. I was helping out at 2 different stalls but thankfully both quite close to each other. Both the nursery and the WI made around £100 profit so not a bad result. My carrot cake got some god reviews so happy about that :) We also won a raffle prize of a free dominos pizza so saving that for a lovely treat.

Kids were with nana but didnt seem to want to stay with her and tried to stay with me on the stall when they came to visit. DS wandered off whilst in the care of nana. No one would play football with him so he sulked in the ditch of the football field. We spent a good 20 min looking for him and nana eventually found him and i think she told him off really well as he barely said a word for the rest of the day.

Today OH had friend over to help with his banger car. He has had some issues lately and has been feeling very down. Think he had a great day here banging cars and socialising. Was a giggle.

Anyway am tired and need a bath. Off for a little drive in the morning to collect double buggy. Hopefully it will be much easier on the days i have niece. Costing £25 which i think is a great price - hopefully it will be ok. Will visit OH's nana on way home as kids love seeing her. Have a good day tomorrow :)
