Its so chilli today in my house - am sitting here in my slippers, hoodie and a blanket over me and i am still cold. Been to my WI meeting this morning and now taking it easy - really easy in fact on the sofa - just realised i am watching kids tv when they are all playing in their rooms lol.

Another NSD here but expect tomorrow will be expensive due to us going shopping - have a list and hope to stick to it but will wait and see :)

Had great day out shopping and getting DD her prize of a build a bear type thing. she loves her new bunny now named bella lol. Anyway we now have everything ready for school but a few extra things got put in the baskets so i definately over spent but will have to find money from somewhere. Most bits were needed even if it could have waited a few months.

OH is telling me that i will not have a car for the month of oct as my MOT runs out 26th sept and new (to us) car not available till 1 nov ish. I am therefore trying to fit things in that i will need to do. I am grateful that i have the car in the holidays as for the past few years it has gone around this time. Were off to the zoo tomorrow with our tesco vouchers and i think that's the last long distance trip this holiday

I must have spoken too soon. We went to the zoo today and on the way home it sounded like the brakes were giving up or sticking - what ever it is did not sound good. After to speaking to OH we decided it wouldnt get any worse if we came home. So a very slow drive home and now no car til nov i am guessing. My mum says its no good and OH should get me a new one but there is just no money to pop to shops and buy one - i felt like saying if you want to donate please do but i will have to wait. Be back later as got to do dinner

Just a quick post as got niece today and she is having nap so can put her down! Anyone looking for something free to do today (or whenever really) as it is fairly miserable outside - i got an email with a free treasure trail in - here is the link and i hope i am allowed to do this -

    http://www.treasuretrails.co.uk/comp6.html?utm_source=Treasure+Trails+Customer+Database&utm_campaign=17d06803e1-Trail+around+home+-+August+bank+holiday&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_a8f415fb6d-17d06803e1-391698917&mc_cid=17d06803e1&mc_eid=7b03b5986e

It is a free treasure trail around the home with all of the clues already done for you - you just need a printer and paper.

Anyway we have been to the park this morning and got a little wet when the rain started. We stopped off at shops to buy some soup for dinner and decided to come home and watch a film or 2 - its that kind of day.

OH reckons he might be able to temporarily mend car but that wont get done for a few days as he is on a charity ride this weekend and lorry must be supper shiny lol Not sure if it will work either but glad he is willing to have a look as DS has hospital appointment 2nd day back at school and i was hoping to go but no chance if no car.

Week and a half to go - next week is bible club every afternoon - persuaded oldest who has all of a sudden gone off it to go at least for the first day just so i can have 2 hours to myself. Not much else planned to be honest but that along with a few jobs around the house should fill each day. Also DS has 1 more book to go at the library so need to get that finished. Got to go niece is now waking up

Day at home today apart from perhaps a little trip to local shop to buy a small bar of choc for tonight. OH is out for the first time in ages and friend suggested i should treat myself to coke and choccy lol I have the fizzy but thought maybe a little bar wont be too bad or too expensive :)

Lots of my friends are having money troubles - one is trying to get a mortgage and move house - they have been told they cant get enough plus they have defaulted on a payment so its not as easy as they expected - they are the richest couple i know and throw money around. If they have difficulties getting another mortgage we will never get another one. i guess behind closed doors you never know what goes on.

Another friend is in the middle of a divorce and fighting over houses and children - dont want to get involved as can see both sides but she is trying to get me on her side. She is hoping to move away in the next few weeks so hoping that goes well and that will be that. Sounds very nasty of me but it is depressing every time she calls and texts and comes to groups - people really have had enough of her dramas even if we do sympathize.

Anyway todays to do list involves cleaning, washing and cooking - nothing very exciting but cheap so i guess thats good plus house will hopefully look better. Oh and i need to list whats in the freezer again - looking full but struggling to find meals to need to make a plan :)

Well i didnt get an awful lot of cleaning done in between kids moaning or fighting but i did get most of the washing done so not a completely wasted day.

I am currently enjoying my choccy and coke, family fortunes and the fact that i can browse the internet without being moaned at that i have been on it all night! Seems very weird not having OH here after him being home every night.

Well i have been looking for ways to save money on everyday items and looking at different budgeting ideas plus tips on how to keep to the budget which is my major struggle at the moment. I made an approved foods order today and got free postage - not sure why but i had a voucher on my account so all good. Looked quickly through the freezer and there is not that much there other than bread rolls which seem to have bulked out everything so once they have gone there is not much left. Saw a few sausages and a packet of mince but thats about it so i think meat will be my main purchase this week - wondering if the butcher will give better prices than the supermarket? Anyway probably boring you all again with my ramblings so will go surf the net a little more before jumping into bed i dont have to share :)

whoops 2 new school bags and some treat food and a dvd for £3. Not quite what was on my shopping list.

I listed the freezer food and my cupboard food and other than meat it is looking quite well stocked. I have done my meal plan up until next sunday based on whats there plus the chicken i have just bought and its looking good. Tonight is pizza and chips though so not really nutritious but i am hoping for easy dinner, bath and bed for the kids so i can clean downstairs before OH gets home.

Well the weather has improved today which i am glad about as the kids can get outside again. It's holiday club at the church this week so i get 2 hours free time without kids and they enjoy themselves so happy all round. Oldest DD was dead set about going this year, but we persuaded her she was not missing out on anything by going - quite the opposite in fact. Once the first day was done she was quite happy to return the rest of the days.

My dads local fire and police stations are having an open day on 31st aug so i am thinking maybe i can get the train there and back using my voucher i have from train company. Can meet dad there and kids love the fire station. Will look into trains as i know there are some repairs going on at the moment which involves buses being used - although it would only take 10-15 min to get there so i guess not too much of an issue. Just had a quick look and for our tickets it would be just under £12 so with voucher £2 ish.

Looking forward to a few relaxing days now to rest before school - just holiday club in the afternoon so we can have some lazy mornings. Ooh and DS as completed his library challenge today and looks like DD has decided to join in - she has read more today in her book than the past 5 weeks!

Well as you all know my car went wrong and OH wants to scrap it as it wont pass MOT. His friend owes us a car or £200 but apparently easier to get a car from him than cash - long story to do with racing - anyway i got to drive the replacement car this morning even though we wont get it full time until around nov. Well it is awful. Far more problems than the one we have already plus extra powerful engine and that means moving insurance at the cost of £137 just for cancelling policy! OH managed to mend our old car by putting on new break pads as old ones had completely gone - knew something was wrong even if OH said it was in my imagination. I know current car needs new break pipes but other than that the car is fine - yes it wont last for many more years but think it will get through mot for another year. He says he has most of the parts on the driveway for the new car but i just don't see the point of starting on yet another pile of junk when our current car just needs a few small bits. I am going to ring a few garages and get a few quotes on how much it will cost to do so i can reason with him - already tried today but with no prices i couldn't make my point clearly. I really only use car for swimming lessons, shopping and school run if it is raining. I do not need a huge petrol guzzling car for that.

Sorry for major rant but OH not listening so i had to vent somewhere
