Ok i have calmed down and OH gone for a bath before he goes to collect next door from a wedding - they were going to get a taxi for the nice sum of £65 so OH said he could do it for petrol money - £20 at the most.

We haven't done much today other than swimming lessons for DS and being on hand for OH when he cant find something! Now the car is better hopefully we can go to the fire station and have some fun. I would also like to take the kids swimming whilst they get in free (swimming lessons mean free summer holiday swimming). Only 4 more days of holiday to go. They have dentist tuesday and as i have such a phobia my dad has said he will take them. i will take them and collect them but he will go in with them. I was so happy - mum had the same problem as me and dad always had the job of taking us when i was younger. Other than the dentist its pretty quiet up til school starts. Trying to keep spends to a minimum so eating out of freezer although not much left but at least if i use whats there it will go a few more days before i need to spend.

Once school starts i need to do more home cooking and perhaps staying at home rather than going near shops plus i also have the gym / swimming membership to make god use of. House is in serious need of decluttering and cleaning - quite looking forward to having space :)

Is it back to school time yet?.. these past few days the kids ave been driving me silly. I really will be happy when they are at school thursday even if it is only the older 2. I dont think it helps that i am still unhappy with OH and the car. I have been really grumpy these past few days.

I looked at the mot sheet for last year and it said number plate was a little worn and could probably do with replacing although it is still very readable so would probably still pass. No where did it say anything to do with break pipes like OH said. He thinks it would fail on breaks (discs a little worn but after fitting of brake pads in perfect working order), clutch (seems fine to me), exhaust (not making any noise or puffing out smoke so i think its fine) and water bottle for washers is leaking (although only a few drips per day). I really do feel it would pass. Wondering if he is wanting to scrap it in order to use the scrap money to get his van through mot - its the only thing i can think of. We have had cars so much worse than this one and they have passed. Yes clutch may go before next mot but is it not worth the £40 to keep it going until it does go and then we scrap it? So tempted to get it into garage on sly and see if it passes. If not then it goes. I also read on the website that i can still drive it until mot runs out even if it doesn't pass so OH would never need to know.

His friend who races cars with OH has just been to collect the 'new car' and said he cant understand why we don't mot it as it would pass.ARGH OH is so frustrating sometimes and i now have this bee in my bonnet lol.

Anyway less of the ranting. Yesterday as planned we went to the open day at the fire and police station near by. It was fun - peppa pig was also there although scaring most of the toddlers rather than exciting them lol. Saw some demonstrations and entered a few raffles - still waiting to hear what i have won lol. Walked back past a box of apples from someones tree with a note saying 'help yourself' we all munched on a lovely fresh free apple on the way home :) Lovely weather too. That seems to have gone again today but as we have been home for most of it, it hasn't made too much difference.

Its possible i have the evening to myself so i need to get cracking on with some work. My final essay needs handing in by 15th and i don't like leaving it till the last minute. Also got some minutes for band to write up, accounts for nursery and WI to finalize and a report for WI to write. I have left most of this alone over the holidays as i cant concentrate with kids in the house. All of the above needs doing by mid sept. Think i better start writing these things down on my todo list!

Again appologies for my ranting x

Its nearly school time lol Kids are still being little pains and moaning and groaning about everything and anything. They cant wait to get back to school now and the feeling is mutual!

Friend of ours has taken them to the park for me and it is so peaceful and calm here - know they will be about an hour unless anything goes wrong so enough time for me to clear lounge again and sort tea.

Also been swimming today whilst youngest DD had her lesson. Only cost us £1.90 as DD was the only one without membership - only supposed to get free swimming until end of aug but i rang earlier and they said until they go back to school so they got in free :)

Anyway it will be early dinner for kids, bath and bed. OH and i will watch the back off whilst eating cake (which i am yet to make) i expect and then bed ourselves.

Must go make use of the time i have :)

Yay i made it lol. Both the older kids have gone off in there newish uniforms and run into their new classrooms. We remembered everything i think. Now its just me and youngest at home and i plan on tidying everywhere other than kids rooms. Told them they need to clear the floors before i can get past the door to hoover and i am not doing it again.

Got hearing test for DS tomorrow so must make sure i have money for the hospital car park before the morning. That will be fun with the 2 little ones in tow!

Off to check bank as i know it is very very close to empty - the worse its been in a very long time :( Need to work out how to cut more costs out. Think i just need to avoid the shops even more than normal until bank looks a little healthier.

Hi everyone - will try to make this quick as we have swimming soon plus this is the first time in a week that we have had internet and i am waiting for it to disappear again. Hearing test at hospital went well and although DS's hearing is back to normal i was shocked when they said he was boarder line for needing help. I thought if they had tested him at his worse they would have had a shock. Next test as they require more to compare is 2 dec at 3.45 - fantastic time as will require all 3 kids to come with me again - but this time no baby niece! It wasn't the best situation taking her but they rushed us in and out as she kept screaming lol. back again later as just seen time - thought it was earlier - whoops

Right swimming done so home for the remainder of the day. No pennies spent as dad appeared and bought the refreshments this week and as were not going out i guess it will be a no spend day today :)

Money as been better this week purely because there was some in the bank! Had a panic though on monday as had no internet and couldnt transfer money from OH account to mine. Ended up at the library on tuesday sorting it all out. Have tried to stay away from shops as no spare money plus so much work at home needing to be done.

I can finally see my kitchen table which has been missing under a pile of stuff for the past 6 weeks. We became a family who sit in front of the tv eating rather than at the table talking about day. This has now been corrected. Am loving DS having school dinners and this week he enjoyed them everyday. Next week there is one day he will have packed lunch but will try most things. Its only the pasta days he wont have.

Finally finished my essay for the end of my first module of university. I am now done and i wont be doing any other modules for a while i feel until i can afford it. Glad to see the back of it to be honest. I also told my WI i wont be there next year - come oct - and also plan on telling nursery i can no longer be on their committee as it all takes up so much time and its down to just a few of us that seem to do it all. I need more time at home when i can actually sort the house out and do the home cooking and cleaning and gardening. I feel i took on too much last year to make a difference in any area and my family/house missed out on my time and they are the most important :)

This morning OH took his van to have its MOT - cheeky so and so nicked my side lights out of my car and put them in his van so mine def wouldn't pass now. Am really surprised it passed and so is he. Never knew garages opened before 8 - he was booked in for 7am. Anyway that's him sorted for another year i guess. I have £186 in my car fund as we never touched it for his van. Still really dead set against his new car for me :(

Whilst i have the internet i am going to hunt for exciting meal plans for next week - we are in a rut and need some new exciting meals that dont cost a fortune and everyone will eat.

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Hi all still dont have internet all of the time altough if i sit in my kitchen i seem to have better luck even though its probably the furthest away from the hub! Tomorrow is ring bt again and been told to speak to a tier 2 person who will sort it out. We will see - i rang them to cancel the contract but am signed up until feb so dont want to pay the bill for that, but i also dont want to be in the situation i am in at the mo. Have been looking around and think i could save loads if i move - sky is looking the best at the mo but still some more research needed - when i have a good connection lol.

DS has not been putting toys away in his room for most of the summer and has spent days in there 'tidying' or playing. He is also having problems going to sleep as there are too many distractions. Anyway yesterday all toys apart from his favorite cuddly toy were removed. He believes they have all been given away but really i lugged all 12 rubbish bags and 2 plastic containers of stuff into the loft. I was pooped by the end of it. His reply was 'yay i never have to tidy my room again' not quite the response i was hoping for. Hoping be will miss his lego and cars before long. I really always do sound like a nasty mum when i re-read my posts.

Went swimming whist DD was in her lesson today and i think i will ache in the morning. Did quite a few lengths and its been a while since i have had the chance to do this.

Also resigned from the nursery parents committee today - need to concetrate on home - dont think they were too impressed but tuff luck i say and it feels good

ooh and my mum has some exciting news to tell me but cant tell me yet - so annoying - why tell me ifs you cant tell me - i have all sorts going trough my head now. If i could have anything it would be that she moves back from usa and pays off my debts for me - probably something really simple but hey its good news apparently so i guess that's all that matters:)

Hi all i have been told about mums news - its that time of year when my mum announces she will be arriving - it is only a possibility at the moment but quite likely she will be here sometime in October sort of time as her OH will be working in Germany for 6 weeks so she has decided to pop here at the same time. I have been cleaning the house over the past few weeks but its time to step it up a gear. Have pulled up my to do list that i have for before mum comes to visit - how sad am i that its saved on my computer lol. Oh well it will keep me from the shops i guess.

The new car is arriving on sat so in theory i shouldnt be without a car as current one finishes friday. It will still need attention but can hopefully do the short journeys in it until its fully mended. It will then need an mot at the end of oct so OH will have to repair the bits by then. Am looking at insurance prices now to see if i can find it any cheaper than my current insurer have quoted me.

Fridge is looking so bare but really want to hold off until monday to so the main shop. Will try to make some cakes tomorrow for packups and see if i have any of the kids yoghurts in the freezer - sure i bought extra whilst they were on special. Got roast chicken tomorrow and think i have everything we need so might just get away with it. I am quite pleased as it means the meal plan worked as there is no waste for the week. I may just top up a few bits as and when needed as money is so tight. We have plenty of pasta, potatoes and frozen veg so if i mix this with the bits in the freezer that's left over i may get away with it. I guess a look in the freezer tomorrow is needed and another meal plan :)

Best get off here as OH will be back from racing shortly and hopefully unhurt from his day racing - night all x

Well car has been scrapped and money went straight into OH's bank account :( He went out drinking last night and came home all upset about his mum and dad - they divorced when he was 3 or 4 and never really wanted much to do with him or our kids. I really dont think he has ever dealt with them divorcing properly even though it was so long ago. I realise it was all fueled by alcohol but it comes out every now and again. He wanted me to insure the replacement car at 1am in the morning to prove to his father he can provide for his family unlike his father. So at 1 this morning i was entering insurance details and it is now covered. I dread to think how much was spent on beer but guess its gone so will try not to dwell on this too much.

Have been looking at the xmas pressies as i only have a few more birthdays to go now. Am thinking most of the familys of kids will get a dvd popcorn and sweeties making a movie hamper - went down well last year with those that we did it for. Its just a case now of finding the right films for the right kids. Will then look for bargain dvds on ebay or hmv. Its the elderly aunts i am stuck on as they really dont need anything but its nice to make a token guesture each year. They are also all up near my grans so it would be good to get them sorted by the time mum comes to stay and she can take them with her - think it might be pushing it a little with the money in the pot at the moment but will try if i can think of something.

My kids on the other hand have everything they could want and have really struggled to think of things for their birthday let alone xmas - they are not spoilt by any means but they have so many things to play with, drawers full of clothes etc. They are just content with what they have - which is lovely but its difficult when people ask what they would like for xmas.

Anyway i have the morning to myself tomorrow and hoping to get some cleaning and organising of money done.
