Great news on the kids progress :T that's great they are helping both kids in where they're currently at. We're on our last day here too at school and the break is welcomed to be honest, i'm exhausted!
As for the cleaning, I clearly don't do enough either because if I do an entire days cleaning I also ache like hell the next day lol! Little and often is the key but I never do it that way :rotfl: I just wait until I can't bear to see any more mess and then do it all at once! xxMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. What is disheartening is i know by tonight the house will be trashed by my 3 lovely kids and i will need to start again. I am looking forward to not having to get out of the house quite so early each day although the diary is looking fairly full for the entire holiday so no chance of a PJ day hereMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well its nearing the end of the month and money is low. I have moved some money around ready for the bills due out on the 1st and am hoping i can top the pots up during next month. I really cant stop spending even if its just a few pounds here or there in charity shops on things we need. For instance i have a clothing pot but due to new school uniform it is currently pretty empty. But in charity shop there were some perfect tops for £1 each for DD so i bought them. I should have waited but like to be ahead of myself. Only problem now is it is so tight with bills
Cant undo what i have done so need to work out how to fix it. Will go through bits i need to sell and get them on fb asap. Think i need to start my envelope system again and only take cash with me - if its not in my purse i cant spend it. I will only be taking purse with cash and any vouchers and reward cards that i have. I have a Mr A voucher for £18 that i can use for food for the rest of the week. I will make some treats for the kids with bits i already have. The freezer only has minimal bits in it as we have been using things up for a while now but will re-stocktake and see what is actually left.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

We go away on tue and come home thurs so food is sorted for us - may need to get some bits in for OH although its likely he will be out each night for work so not needing anything. I will offer my dad some money for the petrol as he has paid for the hire car and wasnt originally even going. I expect we will eat out a few times so need to keep money for this. Told my sister we will be happy playing on the 2p machines in the arcade and messing on the beach so it should be quite low cost activities. I have £200 saved for the entire easter school holiday but feel the remaining weeks once back home will be NSD or LSD as i will have nothing left. If i do i would love to leave it in the pot for the summer hols or half term when mum is over.
OH also keeps putting the heating on which is starting to annoy me. Its not really cold anymore and if he insists on working outside in the rain with only a thin jumper on then its his own fault he is cold. Get under the blanket till you warm up silly man! Not had our compensation through yet from the elect company but think this will now need to go into my main account rather than on debts which i really hope could arrive on monday as it would help the early bills!Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Not much news here but thought i would catch up as writing here seems to help at least confessing to spending even if it hasnt stopped me! I did however look at my energy account and there was an indication of 2 new bills having been raised on 28th. Now does this mean they have sorted out my account? If so my compensation may be on its way soon - well fingers crossed
I cant look at them yet but soon hopefully. This may also help in reducing my monthly payments leaving me a little more in my bank account for my other pots.
Kids are being little so and so's again and my attempt to get things ready to leave tomorrow are not going to plan. Was hoping to get homework, washing, cleaning and packing all done before we leave. No chance now and we still need to pop to shops for a few bits. Have given them lunch in the hope with new energy we can get some bits done.
Washing machine is leaving dirty marks on my white washing again so need to deep clean it again before i can get the washing done.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

So glad it's not just my kids! However sending ds2 to bed at 6pm last night seems to have worked wonders for my two fighting all the time :rotfl: he did get back out of bed at 7pm as dd and I were watching a film, but I got a proper apology and he really was better behaved after that :T
Have fun on your trip away :T xxMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Good evening everyone and i hope you all had a lovely easter break
We have been doing the typical decorating this weekend. My OH and i have lived together in our house for almost 12 years now and he has this weekend finally put the toilet roll holder on the wall and painted the kitchen for the very first time! He also put up the pictures in our bedroom that i have walked around for the past year or 2 lol. As we already had the paint from other projects it has cost us nothing and as we have been really busy cleaning and sorting there have been lots of NSD.
Our mini holiday was great and we fitted in a whole heap of stuff in the time. My sister insisted on paying for almost everything. I did manage the food and from with my dad although he wouldnt let me pay for the petrol. Anyway i still had quite a bit of money left over so did a food shop to get us through the weekend. The cupboards are looking a little bare now but think i can get by with just a small top up shop. Wondering if i can manage to create the crisps in the microwave like i have seen on pintrest as i have plenty of potatoes lol
Were off swimming tomorrow but after that i think all other actvities are free or i have a voucher so should not need to touch bank account.
I have now received elect / gas bill with my new meter on it even if the final month is using estimated figures !!! I am hoping that means my compensation money will come into my bank account very soon - fingers crossedMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Feeling good today - have got rid off my huge double buggy and the last of our stair gates. Both were taking up valuable room in my kitchen. I gave them away rather than getting money for them as they had both seen better days. Good deed done for the day even if i do benefit just as much lol. Have also been getting rid of school uniform over the past few days and have bags ready for collection / delivery. The bits that were not asked for or sold have been delivered to the school ready for them to sell at their next fete.
I also finally received the money from electric company so £150 better off. My bank actually looked healthy for a little while. My initial plan of putting it to debts has been squashed and instead we are hiring a skip. I am really looking forward too it as wellI am hoping to clear the house of everything that we dont need. If i can recycle or donate i will but it will just save the numerous trips to the tip.
Money wise things are going a little better. I am cleaning so much that i dont have time to go to the shops. The freezer is however half empty so a shop will be required very soon. Will spend some time tomorrow going through whats left in there and try to make some random meals upMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well turns out OH had the day off yesterday so skip arrived and i supervised as he emptied the garage. The large skip is now at least half full if not more and we can see the garage floor. The driveway is clearer and a few bits from the house have made their way out so far. Cant do much today as looking after niece and that means nothing gets done! Tomorrow i have cancelled all plans so i can get on with it. The days fly by though and i never get as much done as i hope. Neighbour is hovering incase i chuck something out that may be 'useful'. Have said he can have whatever he wants as long as it doesnt come back in our house i do not mind. Delivering another bag of clothes today so thats slightly less by back door. OH is planning on putting up some shelving this weekend in the garage to store the bits he wants to keep. I am hoping to get all his diy equipment out of the kitchen aka dumping ground to the garage. That in its self will clear a massive amount in the kitchen. Right were off to play date although DN is so grumpy and probably wont unattach herself from me! Hope everyone is enjoying the sun although where has it gone?Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I hope you got it all done? I can't wait to be finished with the decluttering process and get on with enjoying the empty spaces I have (which don't stay as empty spaces as you declutter other areas unfortunately!) xxMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000.
