Hi there everyone, hope everyone is ok? I have had to pay £3 worth of change into my bank account to avoid paying a lot of bank charges. So till monday i have £4.47 to my name. Whilst i was out i got enough milk to last us and think have enough of everything else to keep us going till then. Oh has been out every night so far this week so food has been easy and we have saved the majority of meat for when he is home. It also means that next weeks pay packet will be £100 ish more to allow for nights out.

Yesterday a man came to door and offered loft insulation for free - i like free. It is the same company that did our cavity wall insulation a few years back. I have looked into it before as i though a little extra insulation couldnt hurt. It always said that we didnt qualify as not n the right type of benefits but this company os doing a special offer for everyone to get it free :) Anyway we currently have 60mm of insulation and t should be nearer 290mm so all our heat is just disappearing through our roof. Anyway come 13th Dec that will all change. I just have to tell OH that loft needs emptying now, but to be honest by the time they come we will only have a bed frame u there as only other bits up there are xmas things (i think).

I also managed to get a few xmas pressies started this week which have been putting off. I also found out Asda are doing flu jabs for £7 rather than the £10 my dr surgery are charging plus you can book an appointment rather than turn up sat morning and wait in a queue.

Ok really must go and get ready for the school run :)

Well good evening to you all. It is chilly here this evening so wrapped up under my blanket with laptop on my lap. Will be off to bed before long to snuggle up.

Well its pay day here so done food shopping and put petrol in the car ready to take DS for his check up at the hospital. Will leave a little early so i can get him some new school shoes and go to b&q for tumble dryer vent thingy for the wall (been trying to do this for over a year now and it really needs to be done).

Received a lot of hand me downs today for my little one - shoes jumpers and jeans etc - great for the winter months and for free. There are too many for me so will pass the rest over to someone else in need. I also had my flu jab today so i hope it will keep me from being really poorly like the past few years - think my friends who keep having to take over my household will also be hoping this too. I went to asda as they are only £7 compared to the £10 my dr wanted to charge me.

Spent yesterday getting car ready for winter - oil, water, antifreeze etc done. We also had a leak in the boot which OH located and mended then replace the carpets with new ones from a donor car (that will be raced). Its as good as new - only thing still not as it should be is the rear view mirror - we just cant get it to stick so will have to have a think about it again, but at least its water tight now.

Right off to bed so will update later this week - thanks for popping by :)

Happy new year to you all - i realise i am almost a month too late. I have been a little slack recently in keeping this diary up to date. Good news is that as i have not used my overdraft in months and have money in all of my pots for things like car exp, clothes, holiday etc. My sister has confirmed when we will be house sitting (our summer holiday) so we can start planning that now. We are also hoping to overpay our mortgage as we are only paying interest at the mo. I do wonder if i should just concentrate on debt plan but as its going to be an as and when extra payments we thought the mortgage would benefit more? Does this make sense?

Wondering also how the new tax year will affect us re tax credits as OH prob just over £25k for the first time ever. We estimated £24.5k so only just a little more than expected but if he has a few quiet weeks between now and end of tax year it could well be under. Does anyone know if there is a cut off at 25k?

Got mum coming to visit in 6 weeks or so and the 6 weeks worth of tidying has been put in place. I have already completed this weeks tasks so now onto a few extra little bits from other weeks. Finally made it to the tip and cleared the hallway of boxes o rubbish. My other major task was the shredding as shredder broke and only just got new one. Now all done.

One of my close friends has decided today that i am evil and no longer her friend as i pointed out something to her she did not like. Others have also told her the same thing and we now all face the same fate! Her daughter and my DD were best friends and today that finished to. Like mother like daughter. Sorry i dont mean to come on here and moan after being absence so long. She is just one of those friends that only really needs you when she needs something or has no one else, but as soon as i speak to anyone else she is very jelous. I just dont need it anymore and my DD feels the same. Only problem is that we do so many clubs together it is rather difficult to avoid. Ho hum i guess we will see how the land lies on the school run in the morning.

Anyway i am doing ok (just about) money wise and several no spend days so far this month althoug not quite on target. Next month i looks like i will be cleaning a lot of the time so less time spent spending! Feb will also be the first month i am able to draw out all of my food and petrol budget at the begining of the month to keep in my purse. Doing this before would have made me overdrawn and i am determind not to go there again.

Right i am off but will return :)

Right todays jobs are generally tidying up and starting next assignment before meeting friend for coffee (her treat).

Told stroppy friend to forget whats gone on and get back to normal as its not worth it, but i wont choose between friends for her. Have now closed fb down and turned phone on silence as cant be doing with constant texting. Its very much a childish falling out and i can see it but she cant.

Anyway off to check bank as its last day of month and make sure everything is in place for bills to go out in the morning. Yay 1 whole month of being in a good money position :)

    How is everyone?

Right 1st feb and most of the bills have gone out. Spent £3 on new summer top that is beautiful. I need a few new bits and have been looking around charity shops for a while. Really happy with it.

I am off to school school in a min to discuss the bullying my DS has been experiencing since the start of the year. All they have done is 'Monitor it'. Teacher laughed at me when i said i wanted something done about it so am moving my way up the school staff structure. I will not be laughed at for being concerned about son being hurt almost everyday. Got my list of points to make and a copy of school policy to quote to them - highlighted already. The school itself is great apart from the ability to deal with bullying. I would like child moved to a different class especially after the reactionn i got last night but not sure how they will react to that.

Ranting over for a little while anyway - hoping DD will be asleep in buggy by the time we get there

Good evening. I have done first food shop of the month. I drew out the months money and now have to be very strict with it and only spend my weekly allowance - simple really as i dont have any extra in the bank account that i can use so its got to last. I will be stretching things out this month. I think best bet might be to only take out the money i need for items on shopping list.

Quick update on DS bullying - was rather fobbed off by head of year - they will continue to monitor but also they have something in the pipeline to help (found out today an extra member of staff is being recruited for one on one for children with social behavour problems - not necessarily this bully but possibly). If we still have problems will go back in a few weeks - he was hit whilst in queue at hometime today. Teacher blanked me as obviously my comments on how rude she is has got back to her.

Anyway busy day today and busy week planned. Will try and keep up with things on here :)

Thank you - i often wonder if anyone ever reads the dribble i write. OH is lovely but he just doesnt worry about money things like me :)

My dad came around yesterday on the sly to do some DIY. My OH is very much a man who thinks men do men jobs in house and women do cooking, cleaning and children. Well he hates DIY and is not that great at it either. I wait a long long time for anything to ever get done but he gets upset if i sort it out. Anyway dad has fixed vent to outside wall with screws so it doesnt keep blowing away, he has looked at wobble fence pannel and is going to come round next week to fix that. He also to few milemeters off the loft hatch. I can open it just but couldnt shut it so everytime i needed soething up or down i had to wait for OH to have a free half hour and to be in the mood. Now i can store things and get them back down when needed. I doubt OH will even notice half of what is being done and give it 6 months to a year he will decide its time to fix vent! Anyway i think dad quite enjoyed it. He retired after a very busy work life so feels a little bit lost without it. I did tease that i have plenty to keep him busy if he needs it.

Been doing understairs (junk) cupboard today and have 3 bags of recycling at least another bag of shredding and several boxes to the tip. It is still full but i have made some progress. Also several bags for freecycle and charity shops. I could try and make some money but i think after all the effort of listing on ebay etc i woulld make very little so have just bagged it up for charity shop.

Its so cold here today - may have to get another layer on in a min. Mum finally booked her ticket the other day so will arrive in uk on 8th but go and visit her mum first so the 5 or so weeks left really need to be cleaning more. Hoping to get outside soon and borrow a lawn mower just so i can tidy up the garden a little. We have a lot of toys out there that have seen better days and only real option is taking them to the tip - others need a good clean but cant do any of that in this weather.

Right better get off here and finish my bedroom off - another job i started yesterday :)

Good afternoon to you all. Well i still have money in my purse although less than i would like. I have plenty of snacks and treats and meat to last us so only fruit and milk and bread will be needed for some time.

OH got put on a different contract on friday so will be away all week. Although that will mean i will see less of him at least we know he will be away and can get on with our own routeens as it is easier that way. He will prob get back fri night or sometimes sat morning and then off in the very early hours of monday morning. He should earn a little more money so that will also come in handy when paying things off and for the various pots i have. We paid for our car tax out of one pot the other day and still got a little in there for next time or the mot. It also means that cost of dinners can be less costly as we mainly eat veggi meals when he is not here and then treat him to nice meal when he is home. I think it will be ok for us but he is not keen as it will mean he wont beable to go to his darts in the evenings or do any work on his cars until he is home. I understand that he wants free time and hobbies but i really do hate the car hobbie and would not be sad to see it go. He is also looking at buying a new truck soon to carry these cars about - hoping he quickly comes to the conclusion that he will not need it as he will not be racing and can make do with a small car that will really only be for to and from work. I think however it will take a long time for him to come to this decission and by that time it will be too late as his truck is slowly falling apart and barely making it to work. Right must go sort dinner

Hi there - I'm still reading. Life is certainly a roller coaster - well mine is lol.
I hope the bullying gets sorted and dump the stroppy friend - she sounds like a nightmare ( and a waste of your time!)
You sound well organised though and I hope the meal planning is going well x
