a bit scared to download more stuff at this point
Well don't be.
Open your D drive icon. When opened right-click in it and select 'New folder.' Name it 'Downloads.' Click the WinDirSat download link and select 'Save.' When the Save To window opens, browse to/Downloads and save to there. Go back to your D icon again, open it and right-click for 'New Folder' again. Name this one 'Programs'
Go back to/Downloads, and click on the WinDirStat download to install it. It will probably show Install To 'C:/Program Files' or 'C:/Program Files(x86)' - change this to
/Programs.
You can then run the program from D.
If you have any snags post back.604!0 -

Why?-you've got a full 32GB empty on the 'D' partition? Half your hard drive is still empty.
Just make sure that anything new is installed on D not C.
MS Office 2007 and MS Office Enterprise Edn are slightlly different versions, that's all. Which are the Office programs that you actually use?
looks like when i open word, it comes up as microsoft office 2007
i guess i can uninstall, the other one and MS works,
just save some stuff over on the d
its funny, it seem so obvious now that you have pointed it out, :rotfl:
thanks macman0 -

You already said that all your music and pics are on USB and the only data you have on C is text files.
That's a lot of text files. Not sure you've actually got a lot to move to D.
You've got about 18GB of unaccounted stuff on your C. Uninstalling a few 100-ish MB programs isn't going to make much difference.
You've probably got about 14GB for Windows. The vast majority of the rest is likely to be the swap file, hibernate file and old system restore points, old downloads and Windows installer files. We'd need to see your WinDirStat to confirm.
32GB is quite small for an OS drive if you don't know how to manage it. for example the Windows Libraries default locations for Docs, Photos, Music, Videos and Downloads are all saving to the C drive.
This can be changed from the defaults to save to somewhere else (e.g. D) but you need to tweak it.
I think the best solution for you is to merge your 32GB of wasted space on D into C.604!0 -
To give you more free space reduce the size of your recycle bin.If you reduce it from the 10% default to say 3% you will have an extra 4.5GB to play with
You will notice no difference

The ones I've highlighted red you can move to your D drive. For the first one did you mean thirteen GB or 1 point 3 GB?
Please provide file path and file names for the first 7 items.604!0
