  • My claim was honoured and double and twin where separate on reserve a hotel online although same price. What I did was request a double in the comment box on EJH and would have argued that the option to book what you want is preferable to a twin or double allocated on arrival.
    I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.

  • I've noticed now that when you search for a destination not served by EasyJet (the airline), the 'Double the Difference' bit does NOT now appear under each hotel description, just
Full and final price.. Unlike other sites our rates always include all taxes and fees

I don't think it ever showed double the difference in non easy jet routes howeber the t's and c's have only just changed however if you booked before the change, you should be OK. As I said in previous post, I've had my holiday in Crete approved at double the difference.:T :T

Last night i booked 2 rooms at Caransa hotel in Amsterdam with e/jet for a total of £1382

Then i booked 1 room at the same hotel with e/jet for a cost of £691

I then e-mailed e/jet with information that the above hotel was available MUCH cheaper.

2 rooms with travelrepublic came in at £629
    and
1 room with find-rooms came in at £319

    Massive differences.

i have just received a reply to the claim i made for 2 rooms.

And this is what is said.

I have checked all three web-sites you have given to me and here are the results:

https://www.quickrooms.co.uk - not an existing website (screen shot enclosed)

https://www.travelrepublic.co.uk - only one room available for the dates you have booked with us.

https://www.diytravel.co.uk - hotel NH Caransa is available and I have prepared a Price Guarante Claim on your behalf for that web-site with the price of £775.80 (screen-shot also enclosed)

Your claim has been sent for approval to our Head Office and as soon as I receive their approval I will contact you again.

Thank you for booking with us.

    Best Regards,

I have just replied to the above e-mail as i have checked with travel republic and the 2 rooms ARE AVAILABLE on the same dates. And are still available for £629 so where he was looking i dont know.

I have sent 2 screen shots. 1 from last night, and 1 from today, which even shows the page where you can input your credit card details. So the hotel is there and available to be booked.

Has anyone any ideas as to how this will go. As i feel i should stand my ground. I know that they are giving me something of the holiday, but it should be free.

I wouldn't mind but thomascook, diy-trave hotel pronto all had this hotel much cheaper that e/jet.

i had a problem once where a deal went off the system and they matched it to the next least expensive. i checked the website that went AWOL and found that it was back again so emailed them back and it was accepted. As you have stated price and availability at stage 1, it still being available means of course that you werent telling porkies. i think you should be fine.
  • Sorry, It wont
Thanks to rustyjames for pointing out to me the following from the t&cs

cant believe I overlooked that bit, I wonder if its just recently added

No problem - didn't want to post it in the open forum until I'd got a second opinion as I didn't want to prejudice anyone's existing claims. Seems from the subsequent discussion this is a new term - shame as I'd hoped to start searching for some US hotels.

I booked a hotel with EJet at lunchtime today then sent off a claim for price guarantee. Apart from the automated confirmation e-mails I have not heard anything further.

How long should I expect to wait for their response to this?

Don't mean to seem impatient but I won't be around to contact them tomorrow after 10 am until after 1 pm which is my 24 hour deadline, or is that not important once you have sent the initial request off?

Thanks again for all your help and this great thread.

  • If anyone fancies a week in Florence for £109 per couple, 1 Aug-8th the 3 star Airone is looking good via Hotelclub

    Easyjethotels £395 B+B
    Hotelclub £252 B+B
    Diff = 143
    times 2 = 286
    effective price £109

As far as I can see, there is nothing that would reject hotelclub for a price match, but as always, use your own due dilligence
  • Bloaty, if I were you I would definately ring up and check whether they have received the claim if don't receive a non-automatic reply, as this happened to me when I sent off the claim for my friend 2 weeks ago. I kept sending mails almost everyday for a week, despiting receiving the automatic reply everytime, when I rang up on Thursday the girl said she COULDN'T CHECK MY CLAIM IN THE SYSTEM. Now I have received 2 mails telling me my claim is not accepted but not giving me any reason or explaination on why they didn't reply me within 3 working days as they stated in their T&C. I'm really p***** off....
