Oh pippi (((((((((have a huig)))))))))))))))))))) silly penguin chops. Hope you figure something out - but absolutely DO NOT feel guilty - he HAS said pay off when you're ready, and it's on your list, you've just not been in a position to - and you're quite right, he won't starve! Pah. Fortunately you are GREAT and CHEERY and you will figure something out and get your polytunnel sorted out too :j :j :j :j

Morning all! Thanks for missing me, it made me all happy inside when I've been feeling a bit sad and emotional (no major reasons, exOH being a !!!!! and bringing back lots of sad feelings; feeling like me and OH are not communicating properly with each other and misconstruing what the other one said on text....*sigh*; being stressed with work and needing a break from life again, etc etc etc).

So like I say, nothing major, nothing particuarly new or huge, and I've also been really silly and thought that's odd Pippi's diary hasn't had any updates for ages, then actually clicked into it and realised you had a sparkly new one........

Grr to Penguinchops Pip, I hope you can get him to understand he's being "slightly" unreasonable in suddenly asking for it all back and that with your traditional amazing organisation etc, you'll get him off your back nice and quickly.

Working from home today with Radio 4 burbling away in the background - now if OH was here to give me a hug and actually talk sense, life would be perfect.....

Oh KK poor you - hugs galore here you poor thing - hope you sort it out I really do. xxx

OK, proactively been brave - tackled bank £100 which was for Capital one I've sent to penguin face with an email saying um, I can pay £100 maybe or so a month but not laptops worth or camera's worth (they got stolen the day he got back andc he wasn't insured properly) which is why he's looking for money immediately - probably not what he wanted to hear but hey ho - amelda marcus (huge stash of pricey shoes to ebay) I aint. Gulp - but did offer first born child if that might do it (jokingly - he'd never go for the money guzzler first born) - what's the worst he can do send me a snotty email? I'll fathom it - but I also need to live.

GG you're right most penguins are quite respectable.

Glad you are investigating ways of raising more money Pippi...but don't get rid of all your stuff!!! After all, your ex needs the money now as he hadn't been properly insured...so that's his fault, not yours.

I presume he knows you are not earning all that much, so how can he expect you to find all that cash out of nothing?? You have to feed and clothe your kids as well as yourself, and you do such a wonderful job of eaking out every penny.

Sorry, I am a bit cross now, he's put you in this position because of his ineptitude...Prat (and other names I won't mention here!).

Hya KK...I agree with Cheery, talk face to face, or at least on the phone...and soon. It's easy to get things all warped and mixed up in your head...talk it out. I'm sure all will be fine...you've been stressed out by your ex (I see this is catching atm!) and it's messing with your mind.

Back home for a little while before heading back to college to do more invigilating from 6:15 to 8:30 or so this evening. Got the documentation from college for my redundancy (Compromise Agreement) today. Must have a look through it and make an appointment with my solicitor to get it checked....all a bit grown up and legal-like for me! :o

The heavens have just opened here...yet more rain! Thankfully got the washing in earlier...all nice and dry and on the airer now :).

Have a great day all xx.

See, you're gearing up to it already - just remember, like *everyone* is saying, that he's the unreasonable one, not you!

Thanks chaps, OH and I have talked a gazillion times on the phone today, me ranting and crying and being all frustrated (at one point I nearly told him we were over), then held myself back as I'm sure after DD and I pop over to see him and everyone else who'll be at the house this afternoon I'll be happy again.........I blooming well hope so! He appreciates that he's a winker and apologises but can't see that he then continues on in his own way *sigh*

And breathe...........anyway, the builder has finally been, not really listened to me much, but hopefully it'll all work out in the end. No idea how I'm going to pay him mind, and he told me that I need to call the water board as the mains is leaking, which will no doubt be hideously expensive....think I want to go and live in a tent, all this house-ownership lark is getting on my wick!

I think a lot of how I'm feeling at the moment is linked in to the exOH, and my fear that he's going to start getting nastier. However, on previous experience, I imagine he'll disappear for months, hopefully even years again (for my sake and yup, even DD's as I get the impression she feels sorry for him). I hate confrontation, so poor current OH is seeing a side of me I didn't really know I had, as I'm determined not to feel trodden on and worthless in this relationship. Harrumph!

Looking forward to a nice big hug in about 30 minutes once I've got DD and we pop over now.......sorry for cluttering up the thread with my self-obsessed whining!

Just catching up with all the shenanigans. Right Penguin chops needs a bit of a wet fish slap around that there big. PRAT is right Keiss. And that is being polite.
Now then, did you have a legal agreement? If not then you are right the worst he can do is send you a snotty email and the best you can do is ignore it. You have nothing whatsoever to feel guilty about. As OH says ex OH probably got more than his fair share of the household budgets when with you. Now you dont have to tell us but have a good think about how much he contributed, what the loan was for and then you will soon see that you shouldn't feel guilty. I know lots of people who wouldnt even be trying to pay a loan back. Do not feel beholdent.

Rant over - practical advice that I would have given is already doled out. Do speak to Mr Stripes about this though, do not bottle it up and keep it from him. Even if it is just to ask him for ideas of how to raise the money. He will not thank you for keeping it from him if he finds out (and he will) and men have a funny way of feeling inadequate if you dont share your worries with them. Although in my experience once it is shared it is usually me who sorts it out anyway :rotfl:

How is the website coming along. Is that a way of generating more income in the longer term? Can you take any paying guests in for the summer. Not lodgers, rather holiday makers. What about that idea of renting out a patch of land for tents and you could provide a cooked brekkie maybe. Now is the time of year when you could rake it in. As Darwin is also drive bound at the moment could you rent that out as a novelty sleeping space, dress him up with the bunting and lovely stripey quilts etc. I know lots of people who would pay to do that. How about offering botanical tours of the island to holidaymakers, maybe with some photographs thrown into the cost?

Did I remember correctly that you have enough garden space to allow occasional camping? Is this a possible source of income? £100 is more than reasonable by far so if you can work out a plan to pay it back like that (or even £50 IMO) then I think that is fair enough and certainly seems a bit less scary to me. Good luck :)
