My sister & I have been home to the village we grew up in as it was Open Gardens Day and we love to get a chance to look in gardens we played in as children (some of them were fields then :D).

There were 9 open and we managed to get around 6 of them. It takes us ages as we bump in to people we know from the past or chat to the current owners about how it used to be when we were small.

Some of them were spectacular, one was not to our taste and looked like the memorial garden you get at the crematorium (!), one was designed within an inch of it's life and one looked as though they hadn't done anything to it forever - we think they may have opened this one to encourage others to open theirs next time! Some had amazing vegetables and fruits, others ponds and streams.

It really was a lovely day and the rain kept off :T Oh and I bought a plant to plonk in my garden, I think it is a Christmas Rose - you might have gathered by now I am not very good at this gardening lark, if Pippi had been she would be enthusing about all the different plant she saw :rotfl:

Morning! Hope you're recuperating, Pippi, and hope everyone else is well - the garden tour sounds lovely Maty :)

I was at The Ballet Pippi, not opera :D as my sister said, its funny without words :D:D:D we're both used to ballet, but when Shakespeare's version is *quite* so well known, its odd.

Hope you're having a not-too-rushed day today, Pippi

Morning, had a lovely weekend away and back refreshed. Sounds like you need a bit of refreshing Pippi, hope the tiredness subsides when visitors reduce.

Wow KC £11 for the ballet. That is a deal not to be missed I think.

KC, £11 for the ballet is sensible and a great price!

Morning All, back to work. Still hobbling about and in pain. Managed some extra work yesterday so its a few extra pounds to the debt.

Pippi, have your diary ready to go if you pm me your address.

morning all. hope everyone is well. no actual work for me today just meetings this afternoon. booo!! never mind at least i get to spend the evening with DH and DD. DH is going to put some shelves up in the bathroom so we can finally pick everything up off the floor. at the moment everything is in a wicker basket that is way too small to hold everything so things keep falling out. at least when i organise it all onto shelves then I'll probably find loads of toiletries that I'd forgotten about so it's bound to be MSE as I won't have to buy any til everything is used up.

    Hi all
Just popping in to see what you've all been up to.
There can't be many threads where you get ballet and puffins!
I've just cut back some stuff that had gone over in the garden. I actually had space in the recycling bin and it's collected tomorrow so make hay etc.
    Pippi the photos are lovely.
Just realised I haven't seen kittikins posting for a while, hope she's ok?

hope everyone is well, i've been busy helping OH lay a new floor so we can barely move and are cream crackered. It will be finished tomorrow as we're almost there now. then our holiday can start finally.
i'm struggling through the first few days of a diet - really struggling, all i want at the moment is some chocolate and some of that brownie cake mentioned earlier. but i've resorted to eating some cucumber. :( much as i love cucumber it's not doing it really.
