I will bring some potato cakes for the non cake lovers if you like! Lots of mash on the go here so should be plenty left over.

Mmmm, potato cakes, sounds deelish! I've eaten nearly my body weight in cakes this afternoon when DD and I helped out at an amazing song and dance show/old people's tea party.....we took some cakes and sandwiches with us, as did nearly all the volunteers and so DD now has far nicer fairy cakes than usual for her packed lunches this week :)

I was so proud of DD, she made 24 fairy cakes for the event all by herself, including icing them, and was a superstar helper at the event. It was a show performed by adults (and a few kids) with learning disabilities, and the old folk were bussed in from various homes around about the area. She made lots of new friends and probably did more to help out with getting people settled, their snacks and cakes and then tidying up than a lot of the rest of us put together. She's exhausted now, and has a bit of a headache, so is having a well-deserved bath then some cuddles and a story before bed.

Gulp. Just realised I need to make yet more fairy cakes to take to the school I volunteer at tomorrow and Tuesday, I like to take in an end of term treat for everyone. Not sure I can face the sugar overload at the moment......I might have to get up early instead!

  • Aw you lovely lot.

LT hows the planning going? KK - eek to sugar overload...................starnac - he's as botanically minded as a brick - if I write about gardening he'll phone me up and say that the photos are nice but he found it boring (in a good supportive way!) - this time he said he found it interesting but not his thing - which is a compliment I think! He made one on guitar playing - which I have to tell you apart from hearing him talk (which I like, a nice accent) I can't begin to engage with much - I am about as musical as a tone deaf brick.
