Glad to know you are safe Pippi
It is mighty windy here and Rodders seems to love it! He was laying outside earlier, head in to the wind, with his ears flapping barking at it :rotfl: But he didn't want to come in so I left him out there and watched from the conservatory!
Starnac - Sounds like you are doing brilliantly, ignore the advice you don't need and keep looking at your daughter while telling yourself "I have done a great job with her". You and the baby are just settling in to a routine and you are all learning how to go from a family of three to four.
thanks for the kind words maty
:rotfl: at rodders. My mum's got a dog who refuses to go outside if it's even a tiny bit cold. she'd rather cross her legs than go out in this weatherGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Glad you are safe and sound Pippi.
Maty, Rodders is so funny. The other day Max walked out of the front door and turned right round and pushed me out of the way to get back in because it was hailstoning. He then refused to go back out. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Hey up again chaps - looks like its abating a bit down at 62 here. Its the first time I've locked the door in who knows when - cos the winds so bad I don't trust it not to blow in!
Mrs M poor moo!

Starnac lovely to see you, my sis has 4 kids and on the second decided that people like the health visitor often talked out of their derriers, i think at one stage she may have even asked her MIL how many kids she's had knowing it was only 2 and my sisters response was that she'd had more, therefore more experience so could she kindly shut up. My sis isn't backwards at coming forwards at times lol
Pippi lovely to see you safe and sound and not flying off over the sea.0 -
Glad everyone is safe and sound tonight, love the stories of different dog reactions to the cold and windy weather :rotfl:
Pippi, don't worry, having a busy week, working is good (in a money acquiring way, as well as brain-stimulating), but can play havoc with your mind and body. You will find your way through it all..it just takes a bit of adjustment. Mind you, just when you get used to a new routine, it all changes again!!! Keeps you on your toes I guess!!
Had a full day of invigilation today, with a break between the morning and afternoon sessions, when I knitted most of a scarf. It's one of those ruffle ones, in shades of purples. The receptionist liked it so much, she wants to buy it!! I will keep it for her next week at the college Christmas Market. A few more folk loved it, so making more scarves might just be a good idea!!
Right, need to get to bed, busy creating, wrapping and parcelling. Tomorrow is the last posting day for parcels and letters to Canada...why do I always leave it so late!!!
Night, night all, here's to a quieter day weather-wise!

Wow, that wind turbine is quite something!
Keiss, it sounds good, you're doing *so* well, especially being convalescent.
Pippi, Keiss is making some good points there about you working - your days just need a bit more shape, I'm sure that will come with practice. In the meantime, I'm very glad to hear you probably made it through the night - what a night!
And I too am loving the doggie stories! Yesterday, I was out collecting more leaves, and a woman stopped to chat, she had a black rottie looking dog with a muzzle on. I asked her if he liked to be stroked, she said not really, we carried on chatting. Her dog only pushed his muzzle into my hand for a stroke! I was very happy2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning all
Well we didn't blow away in KW (138.5mph at the turbine at the peir!) - I hope you're all good. Hens all present and counted - brb trailer over the fence and huge tubs everywhere but thankfully they snuggled themselves into a nestle of a byre and a gate and kinda jiggled about there was too bad after my first attempt out there to go out again. Oddly we didn't lose power.
Major damage in scotland by the looks of it and north of england etc.
Hope you're all warm - all schools and colleges shut here except for exams (I'm invigilating) got to get me butt in gear!
Coffee!!

I'm glad you're safe!
You know, if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, its a duck. That was a hurricane. Not just "hurricane force winds". It was a hurricane! I mean, I know the thing about where hurricanes are, and where typhoons are, and all that, and I don't really care about the niceties. A hurricane!!!!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
