Happy weekend everyone - cor! lots of chores going on here - feel tired just catching up with you all!
Munched a frog of my own this morning, actually managed to wrangle the tent - which had been drying in the spare room - into submission and got it folded up and put back in its bag. Yay! :rotfl:
No mean feat wrestling with 15 square metres of nylon, cords and straps in a room which is um, anything but 15 square metres! Still, a few Chris Ashton like swallow dives to get the air out and a bit of toing and froing and twas done. DP will be so pleased as it's usually a bit 'to you', 'to me' and um, sometimes gets a little stressyHad the stereo cranked up the whole while too - go me!
Well, better find more chores to do, sorry Pippi but we too are having glorious sunshine, so I'd better make the most of it. Better start with the washing up though, we had HM beetroot curry last night, from HG beetroot - glorious, but the pan
Oh - regarding garlic/onion planting, I have done garlic, but never the japanese onion sets at this time of year. The garlic does really well (with all other growing factors equal), and this year's harvest was superb - the snow and ice did wonders for the bulbs, they weren't thwarted by it at all (unlike us humans). Just a thought, re your wet conditions, is there any point you doing what Alice Fowler did on GW a couple of years ago, starting off the garlic cloves in individual plant cells (something like the 2 inch square ones), then when you get your PT covered, they could be transplanted to a fish box - surely that'll miss the worst of the winter weather? AF put them in plant cells and then was going to transplant them out in Feb (but it coincided with the axe falling on Toby so it never got followed up as the series moved to 'Longmeadow'). Just a thought.....

I liked Toby. He was so down to earth and easy to watch. I do like Monty too thoughSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

Oh gosh yes thanks for reminding me KK-
I keep forgetting to ask how to deal with my pepper seeds - I'm addicted to pepper at the moment & each time I compost the stalk & seeds I think 'what a waste, I must find out how to store for next years crop ?
Now I have the answer :T
Loved cutting the grass & treading softly when I remembered that there are little crocus bulbs hidden beneath the grass0 -
To be utterly unhindered by exploitating my you-know-what........LINK here - well the website will be up and on air soon
so I can't be as shameless then - Lula the link opens to how I saved my seed last year - and they all grew!
Greying yup I do that for my own onions in spring - I might give it a go later but not without shelter here might try at work then bring them back home when my PT is covered (the cover will be ordered on MONDAY (does a little dance)) - well done on 'eating the frog' - made me giggle. I thought you had toad in the hole for breakfast.....................:)
I love we have HG for home grown - it makes me smile.
I've begun my 'what can I grow here' list for the PT - OMG its amazing.
I've joked with Mr F that we should get married in it. He's less than convinced. But, I've also thought about it and we've got lots of stuff already - if we got married (well when) would it be rude to say no proper presents we don't need anything and instead ask for seeds of fruit or veg or even a small fruit/nut tree to have a wedding garden/orchard in the future? Or is that greedy?
I'm a bit obsessed atm - dd made both brownies (non beetroot from Janes secret recipe - dead easy and cheap) and HM chicken snoodle soup for lunch. YUM YUM YUM and she even washed up - (she needs a lift later).Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

Just popping in to say it's unbelievably hot here. I've just pegged more washing out wearing a summer dress and muttering 'this is just to hot for me' ON THE 1st OCTOBER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

As I sit in the cold, in three jumpers, wearing a scarf, I am not jealous.
When we go for our walk, I'll also be wearing a coat and a hat.
Not jealous at all. No no no 13 degrees here, positively balmy:rotfl:
Glad you've got some sunshine GV
Paid £400 to CC yesterday (from Mr F) which will pay for cover once cleared.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Great idea to get married in the PT amidst all your homegrown. Liking the idea of asking for seeds but I guess Mr F should be allowed for something he likes too
Sorry Pippi but I just have to say that I have been sitting on the prom today in my tshirt. it was 24 degrees here. Mad I say, just Mad. Off to the pictures this evening as a special payday treat. However I am taking home made popcorn (10p for a mahoosive bag), some of my own wine in a little bottle ( cheap from Lidl) and Mr C is taking a bottle of beer (cheap from Lidl) and some yoghurt. The pictures that we go to is frequented by all of the students so they are quite amenable to bring your won picnics. Plus it is one of the things that is cheaper here than back where I come from. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Thanks for the link Pippi .. looks very simple, although I'm a bit unsure as to what to do with the seeds once I've removed from the mother ship ? Bear with me please , I'm a bit new to this. Do I dry them out & should I store in the fridge once they are dry ?- that's what it says on the packets of the ones I've bought this year so they are snuggled up next to the jam
Perhaps you should have a question section on your new website & charge 10p each for answering them
Not wanting to boast ... but it was 28 here today ... have to collect DD later on & am really looking forward to a nice walk in the cool evening air.0
